I am 15 years old and my parents don't allow me to date right now and they won't allow me to go places by myself , and right now I am feeling lonely and sad. I have friends but right now they don't seem to solve the problem. Am I depressed, I don't know what is really making me feel like this but how can I get over this and what can I do to make myself happy?

at 15 your parents need to give you more freedom so that you're ready for the real world....I know that they are just trying to protect you but they are also hurting you by keeping you secluded...you need to have a talk with your parents....they should know how depressed you've become...good luck!!

Easy, print out your question and sit down with both your parents and show it to them. Let them know how you feel, maybe they can find other friends of theirs that have responsible teenagers of their own to befriend you.

Not that your not responsible, its just that IT IS a big and dangerous world out there and THEY are out to get you.

Sadly, people disappear every minute in the US, some are found many are not. Your parents are simply sheltering you and want only for your safety, their not doing this to be mean, they do it with love. I know this doesn't help with boredom or lonliness, but it should at least make you feel lucky. Its what alot of ppl don't have, parents that care!

What you need is to start searching for what you want to be and do when you get older. Start a journal (tell it the truth), talk to counselors, make new friends, volunteer, etc.

Try doing some group sports, activities or something to help take up your time. As for mom and dad they are trying not to let you grow up to fast. I know it's hard to understand that now but as someone that learned the hard way I can say "I know" If you can't get out of your funk talk to someone because it can be depression, however antidepressants aren't good for teens they can have adverse effects.

Now can be the time that you really find yourself. Get involved in lots of after school activities, now that its summer you can do a lot more than just school stuff. Also get to know your parents, a lot of kids your age get depressed it because of all your hormones you have stirring up

Please don't worry about being happy. Just concentrate on doing things that keep occupied. Being happy will come. But most of the time people are not happy, just content. And the way to accomplish this is by keeping the mind occupied.
