BAD AXE, MICHIGAN!

2006-06-22 18:59:27 · answer #1 · answered by Someonesmommy 5 · 0 0

Take a look at southwest Michigan. Two hours from Chicago or Detroit if you need a weekend city fix. Low/no crime, low property rates and taxes, good schools. And if you live in a Kalamazoo school district a group of philanthropies have offered to pay up to full scholarships to state universities (depending on when they start school in the district) -- look it up at www.thekalamazoopromise.com. That is all not to mention being close to Lake Michigan for summer fun. The only bad points to some people (not me) is that we have all 4 seasons pretty much equally and being so close to the big lake we tend to get a lot of lake effect snow.

Ann Arbor Michigan of course, home of the Michigan wolverines ( GO BLUE), Such a diverse community, quaint little collage town, known across the USA for our art fair which is actually three separate fairs all going on at the same time. We have such a mix of people here, all origins and nationalities it is absolutely wonderful! We also have one of the BEST hospitals in the entire country, the Uof M hospital and Motts children's hospital. We also have all 4 seasons. Spring, summer, fall and good old winter! There is nothing else quite like a fall football Saturday in Ann Arbor, Indian summer time, You must see it for your self!

NOT LOUISIANA!! I am currently residing in North Carolina. The weather is nice so far. North Carolina also has the mountains and the beach for people that like those things. For sports fans, we have an NFL team, and an NHL team(WOOOHOOO CONGRATS Hurricanes!). We have the larger city areas, Raleigh and Charlotte for people that want the city life...and then we have the country areas as well...so far I'm enjoying it!

well if i were you i would pick somewhere that doesnt usually have bad weather, has good schools (if you have or plan to have children), does not have a bad record for crime, is near to places (so you are able to walk to a few places if you would like, and also so you dont have to use as much gas)
i dont know an actual place, but i hope those tips are helpful
good luck!

The best place (without specifically answering is):

Low crime
High employment rate
Low property taxes
Low cost of living
Preferred weather, do you like 4 seasons? or do you like warm all year around?

Do some research on the net and I bet you will find what you like.

Alabama is nice. We have very few homeless people, a low crime rate if you live in the smaller cities, and good income. Only problem is if you want your kids to go places.
