why would they hide some of the scriptures?

Rabbis and Monks do not go around changing some words from the Bible. Besides Rabbis are Jewish and don't have a reason to tamper with what is in the Bible.There are different versions in different styles such as the king James in old English, and some more modern writing to help us understand the Word better if we hear it in our own way of talking. If you read all the versions you will find that they all mean the same thing. It is more important to get the message than to worry about what style of English it is written in. You should really keep in mind that the original texts of the Bible were written in Aramaic, Latin and Greek, NOT in English. The Bible was translated into English1000 years after the Church gave it to the world, so there is no need to start changing it. If any changing has been done, it has been by cults like Jehovah's Witness and Mormons who use their own changed Bibles to indoctrinate their followers to their version of Truth.But we aren't that concerned because we do not subscribe to their beliefs. The Protestant Reformers were the ones that removed 7 books in order to be able to justify breaking away from the Catholic Church.

They are better able to manipulate people into thinking the way that they believe they should. Remember, before the printing press was invented, very few non-ordained people had access to the Bible, and there was no way for anyone who didn't read Latin to tell if what was being taught to them was from the Bible or from the religion, which at the time could be two completely separate things. That also brings into question, if they were willing to lie verbally, were they willing to lie in writing, substituting words, changing things around, leaving out what they didn't like? Of course they were. Men are fallible. I've never been able to grasp why people would believe that anything written down by the hand of a man who just happened to SAY that he was divinely inspired is completely infallible truth.

Rabbis don't change the words of the Bible. The text Jewish people use hasn't changed in thousands of years.
Christian monks, priests, and preachers have changed Biblical text over the last 2000 years to fit their own notions of what it should read, for purposes of politics and social control.

If they change the scriptures, it makes the people ignorant of what they changed, which is usually something that goes against their beliefs. If they change it to match their beliefs, then the people will follow them and make them leaders.
However, that is a short lived victory because it is written that distorting scripture is an abomination that shall be punished. Harsh, but they bring it upon themselves.

COMPLETELY agree with spedusource!! Ever heard of the Torah? It is the same, word for word that G-d wrote on Mt. Sinai and gave to Moses. King James took from that how HE interpreted it, and also was not written until 300 years AFTER the death of Jesus. Ask the preachers (or should I say hypocrites) of today what it means to change the words, and meanings...

Who changed words from the bible? And who is to say they havent been changed a million times in the last oh I dont know 1000 years?

Because it benefits them to change the scriptures to fit their natural understanding and beliefs!.....I agree with everything the Bible says!...

If someone changes the words of the bible, it is a sin against God, so obviously, there are NO benefits.

So they wouldn't have to read all of the scripture....where Matthew quotes eye for an eye......well they tear out the verses slandering the sin of this ace and hiding God's true will.....

I think it is the same as other translations. the word can mean 3 different things, so they go with what *they* think. Wrong or right, they morph it a little to follow their thinking and their beliefs.
