After reading the davinci code a few months ago, i keep thinking about it. I feel very confused about all the religious things in the book. NE body out there who also feels confused? why? plz explain thanks!

There are a number of interesting issues raised by the DaVinci Code.
One claim is that a group of people called the Priory of Sion has been protecting the bloodline of Jesus since 1099. This claim is not true. The Priory of Sion was in fact created in 1956 by Pierre Plantard. Obviously, DaVinci could never have been a grandmaster of this group since it did not exist during his lifetime.
Another claim is that Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene and had a child and a bloodline. There is very little reliable evidence that this ever happened. The evidence cited in the DaVinci code comes from the Gospel of Philip. It is believed to have been written in the second century or later (180-350). This is more than 100 years after the life of Jesus, and most believe it was created too late to be accurate.
Think of it this way. If I went out and wrote a book on the US Civil War (1861-1865) and told you everything you had read previously was wrong - it was the south's idea that slavery should be abolished and that the south won the war. Would you believe me? You wouldn't believe me because I could not possibly have first hand knowledge. The writer of the Gospel of Philip had no first hand knowledge either.
The DaVinci Code is a fictional writing, and should be treated as such. Keep asking questions, and keep trying to find answers.

Answer this question in your head. Would it be the end of the world if Jesus was married? If he had a child(ren)? It wouldn't matter at all in Christianity because isnt the main thing him resurrecting? The only thing that would change is in that the Catholics would have it all wrong about celibacy for Priests, Nuns, and Monks.

We as Christians have to be very selective as to what we are willing to read watch and listen to. We don't want to give any occasion to the devil to influence us.

YOU didn't get GROUNDED good in the WORD of GOD concerning basic BELIEF's(TRUTH) befor you went to see it. Now the enemy of our SOUL's is cutting-up with you a little (doubt and unbelief)!!! Get back to reading the BIBLE, and try not to think bout' it all. Write down all of the confusing thought's on paper, then quit thinking bout' them, and start SEEKING the ANSWER's to each confusing question one at a time, and get the answer to one question befor you move on to another. Ask your Christian (Born-Again) friend's the answer, buy some Christian book's and tape's and work through each one, till YOU FIND OUT WHAT GOD SAID bout' it. That worked for me, and I was VERY CONFUSED after I got Born-Again(SAVED), but I kept at it and I prayed to the FATHER in JESUS's NAME EVER-DAY that HE (FATHER) would keep me out of all DECEPTION so's that I would finally KNOW what GOD SAID.

THERE IS NO EVIDENCE THAT JESUS WAS MARRIED!!!! IF this was true, then that would mean that Jesus Christ was simply just another prophet. That would strip Jesus Christ of his divinity and contradict the prophecies and the Word of God, the Bible. BUT, JESUS CHRIST WAS AND IS THE SON OF GOD!!! Pray for understanding. I understand about being confused about God. I would read my bible, but didn't understand alot of it. A Friend told me to pray for understanding, it is helping. Anyway I'm not confused anymore. I hope this helps you God Bless
