krajlicatabiaa is/was one of my favorite regular anwerers on here. she always showed respect for everybody and showed a bright, funny and smart personality.

she got suspended from this site for asking a question in a foreign language.

66% of her answers were chosen as best answers! I think she's a loss to the Yahoo!Answer community.
i don't know her, but i always enjoyed her questions.

one of her questions, just as an example:

http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AslQDp1fy3jDur4Jto2U2PcgBgx.?qid=20060620211327AAzkzK9

could we all pray (or whatever) that God (or whoever) will make Yahoo! correct this obvious error??

The Yahoo! Gods have answered our prayers and seen fit to restore her...

Practically speaking, I've often suspected that a lot of Yahoo!'s suspensions are automated. Probably whenever somebody reports abuse, it's added to a database, and after someone gets a certain number of reports, the computer automatically shuts down the account. This, of course, tilts the scales against long-term and well-known users, because sooner or later someone will report you. I think the system really prefers semi-anonymous figures who ask fact-based questions that don't require thought and give fact-based answers that don't show thought. Mediocrity wins out in the end.

Two suggestions I could make to Yahoo! would be to counterweigh abuse reports with the time someone's been on the site - someone who's amassed 20 abuse reports in 12 hours is clearly more of a threat than someone who's amassed 20 abuse reports over several months - and to offer some kind of counterbalance to abuse reports - something to accentuate the positive and not just the negative, like on eBay where feedback on a user can be positive or negative.

But Yahoo! is a private company and has the right to behave however they want... Our two choices are to accept it or walk away...

(edit: A better question is why they haven't suspended someone like Sara F, who gives answers as ignorant as the one above...)

i really dont see how it makes much difference what lanuage u ask or answer a question in, it just shows the intelligence of the person asking or answering in a different language!
to be honest, i didnt even realise u could get suspended for doing this!!
there are people constantly asking 'wrong' questions on yahoo answers, pretty sick questions at times for example the person pretending to be Fred West last week or Wife Beater...thats the kind of people that should be reported....to the police cos they must be very twisted to write the question or answer...who knows if they would do anything in real life!!!

I can't believe asking a question in another language got her suspended! They let so many other things go on this site. It's hard to imagine that a question in a foreign language is more offensive to them than repeatedly insulting others or profanity. That's crazy.

She shouldn't have a question in a foreign language if she didn't want to get suspended. Didn't she know the rules? Don't you? And I'll pray about more important matter than this. C'mon!

A lot of my answers are chatting or something very close to it, so I'm always expecting a violation notice that hasn't come yet. I suppose krajlicatabiaa's violation was more obvious than most.

But it looks like she's back, yay!

Sorry, but suspension doesn't qualify as a sin.
The rules state that the questions and answers must be in English.

Now that's just wrong. Kraljicatabiaa was a brilliant member - she asked questions well and responded to questions well. If there is a complaints form I can submit, please post it and i'd be more than happy to argue with Y!A about her being suspended.

Don't worry about it, this is only the first offense, right? Anyway, suspensions on here like that don't last forever, so just be patient and she will be back before you know it.
