Remember the story about 6 months ago. There were morticians selling body parts to graft companies. (They got caught) I remember one of the leg bones came from a person who has metastatic prostate cancer. The grafting supple company can test for germs and such but what about cancer. Sort of makes you wonder if you want to use a cadaveric acl on your next acl repair.

Yes they are supposed to test for any thing but they did have a big thing a few months ago that they found some places that had sold them with out permission and they had not been tested.

The answer is definitely yes they do. Very extensively.

From past experience with some bad infections, it is evn scrutinized more closely by different agencies to make sure they do.

Common sense would dictate that they run many tests for deseases prior to allowing body tissue to be used for transplantation.

There are not very many pathogens that can be found in bone, and typically they are sterilized, so I wouldn't worry about anything.
