NEITHER. :)
I break up day old bread into a bowl(4-6 slices) mix with 2 eggs a 1/2 cup milk. Set aside and let soak. Mix 5 lbs of ground beef with your choices of spices (ie: onions, garlic) I Also add either ketchup or bar-b-que sauce(just a bit) then mix in the bread 1/2 at a time... Meat loaf should be firm, not too moist. So Add the rest if needed. Form into loaf and Bake 350 degrees 40-60 minutes. You can also place sliced bacon on top before baking.
This make the best most moist meatloaf. enjoy.

Oatmeal is; it has a better texture. Breadcrumbs make meatloaf taste like it's full of wood shavings.

I have never used oatmeal. Breadcrumbs have always worked best for me. You can even try flavored breadcrumbs.

Never heard of using oatmeal...actually sounds kinda gross. I think oatmeal would make it to dry and chalky tasting. I just use bread and one egg so the mealloaf will stay a loaf and not fall apart!

I always use oatmeal in my meatloaf. Once its all cooked up you can't even tell there is oatmeal in it. Oh, and I never grind it up.
