You don't need to be baptised again technically BUT honey it sounds like you're experiencing pain with this death in the family (sorry) and it'd ease your soul/make you closer to God to be rebaptised. Discuss it with your minister. I don't see anything wrong with it.. I mean, people go 'renew their marriage vows' and no one has aproblem with that, do they? I think it's kinda nice to ask this question.

I would say at 7 or 8 you were too young to understand the comittment you were making, and therefore the comittment is void. Being baptized is a public symbol to witnesses that you have been born again, dead to your old life with a new life in Christ. You really only need to be baptised once in your life, but at 7 or 8 I would question whether the baptism was authentic and if you really understood what it was.
In Isaiah it speaks of an age of accountability. Biblical scholars believe this age to be 12 or 13. What it basically means is that before that age you do not contain the psychological maturity to make a comittment to God or not, so if you die before that age you will go to heaven automatically. After that age is when you are mature enough to choose God or reject him, and are at that point in danger of hell if you are not a follower of Christ. I would say any baptism done before that age doesn't count, because you were too young. This is my opinion though.
In your heart, do you know you remember knowing exactly what you were doing when you were baptized? If so, then you should be good to go.

Believing in God is not what makes a christian. You have to ask for forgiveness for your sins and ask Jesus to come into your heart and save you. Ask him with all your heart and he will answer. You will know when he has answered. Just keep asking. New believers are baptized into the church that they choose to join. That's the way the Missionary Baptist does. It is an outward showing to the world that you have buried the old person(the sinner) and a new birth has taken place(the saved christian). You need to decide what faith or religious beliefs you have and ask for guidance from the leader of that church. If that church does not believe in John3:16 and preach the King James Version of the bible I would suggest that you find one that does. I feel like it teaches closest to the original writings that God inspired the writers of the bible to write. If you feel that you were never saved then after repenting of your sins and accepting Jesus Christ as your savior then you will truly be ready to be baptized to show the world that a new birth has taken place.

I can say for myself I have never been baptized. But this Sunday night I will be for the first time. I am so excited. I was saved when I was young. I didn't always walk in His light. I realized as I grew up and how my life just wasn't right that I need to be reborn again. So it has been 4 years now since I was reborn again and just about a month ago I really have had Him minister to my heart to the point of Him filling me with so much love and peace and strength that I want everyone to know I will walk the walk and talk the talk. I will follow His commandments, I will obey His will for me. I am glad I waited for my baptism because I know in my heart I will be a true follower in all His ways. I really don't know for sure how many times a person should be baptized, but as for me I can say I know it is my time, my time to let people know I am serious about following in His footsteps.

Did you make the decision about the baptism? Did you understand what you were doing? If you accepted Jesus as your Lord and savior for the forgiveness of your sins, you do not need to baptized again. One baptism is good. Repent from your sins.
But if you want to baptized again because you are not sure, get baptized. God loves you. I was baptized as a baby, I got baptized again...and my baby was baptized as a baby, and she got baptized again when she was 8....if she feels one day that she needs to be baptized again...it is OK. She has been going to church since then, so I think she understood. But if she ever stops going to church and live life that she has a need to be baptized again..I will tell her that the baptism does not save us, it is the repentace from our sins...and accepting Jesus to be a leader of our lives.. Sometimes I feel, was I really ready then...but I was a spiritual baby...and I have grown up with my faith...and NOW I really understand why I got baptized.
The first baptism was because my parents wanted the best for me. but this is the one decision I need to make for myself. So do what you feel is right in your heart.

Even the devil believes in GOD.
The devil has no need to be baptized.
Baptizim is the outward symbol of an inward change. If you have accepted Jesus as your personal savior and have had the heart-filling feeling of forgiveness of your sins, you want to go out and tell the world about it, shout out loud and so on.
If you have felt this, and are now wanting to be baptized to show this committment to Christ, then by all means do it. If you are doing it or thinking about doing it for any other reason, please do not do it.
It sounds to me like you have the keys to your new car, you just need to learn to drive it.

was your baptism at age 7 a personal choice? Did you give your life to Jesus? Baptism isn't valid if your baptized with out accepting Jesus as your savior. Each church has their own way of baptism but like John baptized Jesus so should we to wash away our old sinful life and become clean. (no Jesus wasn't sinful just that he showed us how)
Talk to your Minister he/she will guide you better than any of us could ever do.

You dont have to be baptized again, I have seen a few saved people re-baptized as a way of rededicating their lives to Christ, but that was their personal decision....if you understand why you were baptized the first time you dont have to do it over, but there's nothing wrong with doing again if you want...God Bless

Thank GOD for your salvation! The Bible says to us sinners:
"Repent ye, call upon the name of the LORD JESUS and be baptized." Once accomplished, it is a fact of accomplishment.
Should you be led by the HOLY SPIRIT to proclaim JESUS as your personal SAVIOUR before others as an act of obedience in once more being baptized, then follow the HOLY SPIRIT's prompting. GOD bless you child of the living KING of KINGS!

If you want to be Baptiste again. I would encourage you to do it. God has called mankind to be baptist with his Holy Spirit. And those who obey God with a faith in Jesus Christ have done so. But water baptism is a response to your faith in Christ. And is a testimony to why you believe.

Being baptized is something that is you saying to others that you have put your faith in Jesus. It does tell us to be baptized but I would say you do not need to do it again. you do not NEED to be baptized to go to Heaven. If you were baptized at that age and you knew what you were doing and why you were doing it, that is great. Now if you were baptized as a baby then I would say yes, but from what you have said, no. Your faith in Jesus is what is getting you to Heaven!
