you can just tell normally they do anything to get near you and use anything to talk to you. but it could also be the complete opposite: they act like they hate you and try to avoid you and are very shy around you.
normally, if you catch them looking at you more than once with a little sparkle in their eye, you can pretty much figure that they like you.

Paying attention/eye contact/flirting/compliments.

If someone likes you (I assume you mean romantically), that person will be nice to you and treat you with respect. If you are not treated with respect, the person DOES NOT like you, they want something else.

if they give you dirty looks, bump you, talk about you, pick on you or any mean thing they probably dont like you but if they conversate with you and try to be your friend then they probably like you
