Cornstarch will thicken it yes, but to make it creamy, I would add half and half, or heavy whipping cream. Also, if you want to make a soup creamy, but still keep it healthy, you can add potatoes. The natural starch from the potatoes will give the soup more substance and in turn, make it slightly more creamy.

add a little flour. it woun't chane the taste it will just thicken it which in turn makes it creamier. cornstarch is right also, but the rest will not work.

you can use buttermilk, instead of regular milk, and by adding a little flour, you can thicken it up as well. your best bet is to make a rue first. simply melt equal parts butter and flour into a saucepan on low heat until the butter and flour mix to make a thick paste, and then add it to your soup.
