Well first, they aren't exactly elderly.
I'd say something personal, like a excersise CD with all their favs on it. A portrait of the family (if a family member), nice frame and all. A trip to a day spa. Or something to compliment a hobby of theirs: scrapbooker? how about a workshop or new tools. computer geek? personalized mouse with their monogram. movie guru? a collection of hard to find movies, or just dvd's of their favorites...........

45-50 is elderly? Yeah, I do remember riding to school on a dinosaur. Sorry. We elderly get like this sometimes.
What does this elderly person like to do besides knit?
How about a gift certificate to a spa for a massage? mmmm that would work for me. Or a gift certificate for a pedicure an manicure. A sexy black teddy? Oops, I mean flannel nightgown.
Sorry. They just keep popping up. How about a computer program they have been looking at or a couple of cd's of her favorite artist. Show her how to work a CD player. sorry , I better sign off now. This is way too fun. Good luck, hope you are a good sport.

Funny, I think of 60 years old as very young. I'm up in my 70's. I would think that you'd have to know something about these ladies. I have friends much older than I am, and they spend a good deal of their time traveling around the World. Others sit at home. Everyone has different interests. If you were buying a present for me, I'd say some good books. But not everyone reads. Who are these women?

Maybe she would like to go out to a nice movie and dinner with YOU! Or maybe tell her you think she is elderly and let her show you she is not with that 100 bucks!

Hi...Thanks all for your valuble opinions. I didn't find a way to answer you all. First of all my apologies for calling them elderly. I am not a English speaking person and sometimes even though I mean some thing I put it in wrong words. I just meant to say I needed some gift ideas for 'matured adults'. I feel so bad myself about calling them elderly. They aren't. Please forgive me all. Thanks.

As others before me ...not elderly. Find out about her. What does she do? What are here hobbies? Dose she collect anything? Does she like antiques? I have given antique jewelry and vintage, working, fountain pens with some success. But you
have to know your recipient.

Get them something that would involve them using their brain cells.
