Probably the same reason that I get a little better treatment from a server at a restaurant if I have on a suit and tie, instead of a shorts and a T shirt. Appearance does matter. Not saying it changes the person, but the way one is perceived.

How true.. I think it must be societal in nature, meaning that women who dress feminine gives men a chance to be gallant toward them. Maybe the lines of gender is more defined to where a woman dresses in what's the accepted norm of what a lady should look like. Maybe men feel less threatened by feminine women. My opinion is not such where I actually believe to what I am saying.. it's just a merely an observation.
Also men tend gravitate to physical looks.. A man likes to be the knight in shining armor.. and the woman can play that role.. a damsel in distress. Lately women are now taking over roles that were considered men's. I don't believe that it is wrong... I seriously believe that women had to put up with a lot of discriminations in the past and which is still on-going... I think this made women more resilient and determined to live life as equals to men.You have to be a woman to truly understand a woman.. as a man.

Men have a tendency to look at things that catch their eye.Even though women can still get looks from a man when she's in jeans,a man is more likely to stop a woman and pay more attention to a woman in a dress beacuse she is ''revealing'' some skin.Jeans cover a womans legs....but a dress depending on what style show's off your legs and men like that.

Why mention you are Catholic? What does that have to do with anything. Might as well mention how tall you are.

Men and women are treated mainly by the way they act. Perhaps you are acting differently wearing dresses.

its how you wear each item. i had days where i wore jeans and i got the "female" attention, then i turn around and wear a dress and people barely notice.but why do their personality change up with what you where? the same reason women treat men with suits with more respect then one with riped jeans.

Though dresses aren't always more expensive than jeans and a blouse/shirt, dresses are generally more upscale. The more upscale you dress, the more you'll be treated as an 'upscale' or higherclass person.

It's just gender stereotypes. If you dress like a man, people will treat you like a man. if you dress like a woman, people will treat you like a woman.
