Bipolar is an illness and is treatable, it's also known as Manic Depression because a persons moods can go from High (manic) to Low (depression)'

Bipolar affects people differently because obviously everyone is different but the symptoms may be the same, the symptoms are categorized under the high (manic) symptoms and low (depression) symptoms.

I would have to debate that. It seems now days that every physical or psychological problem no matter how severe it is, is called a disease. As for bipolar, by definition, one could assume that everybody is to a degree, but we only treat the severe.
