You, at 13 , don't TELL YOUR MOM....you, at 13, ask, when you might be able to date. Now, that being said, there's another approach. It's called hagning around in groups. Like of 4. Here's how it works. You get a "tenative" plan set up with a girl friend of yours and one boy each. That'll be 4. THen you ask your mom politely, if she wouldn't mind driving ya'll to see a movie.....and make sure you ask her to join ya'll. You behave properly, sitting beside the fella of your choice. And then, if all goes well, she'll allow you to do a similar thing again. I'd handle it the second way first. It's less like "dating to parents" and more like just friends getting together.

You need to make your mother aware of the fact that it´s normal at your age to do such thing. Also, you need to let her know that nothing abnormal (sex) will occur while dating, because at the end, that´s all she´s concerned about. You are growing up and need such experiences in life, and dating is just a NORMAL THING...when you are ready to commit to a person and do it, there ill be nothing she can do to prevent it from happening, so she needs to trust you and the upbringing she gave you...perhaps she was a naughty girl at 13 and she thinks that you would follow the same pattern of behavior.

well I think 13 is young for a one-on-one date. 16 is better I think for group dates. It's all about getting to know other people and have fun. Don't try to grow up too fast!

no matter how you ask, be prepared for an answer you probably won't like. i would not allow my daughter to date 1-1 at 13, but would be ok with a group outing of friends (as long as i know and like all the friends). just remember your mother loves you and does not want anything bad to happen to you. ; )

u dont! u do not need to be thinking about a date at such a young age, my goodness... what is up with our children in these days!? all they do is think of the opposite sex. go ride a bike, play with a doll, watch cartoons, read a book, write a poem,play a game, try a sport, catch up with your EDUCATION, take a nap, jumprope, find a summer hobby or part time job, help the old lady cross the street, .... whatever u do stop thinking about boys! be your age and enjoy it! for God's sake! oh i forgot to say... You should give your mother the reasons why you beleive you should go out on a date. Be willing to give her all the details and don't sweat it if she doesn't agree with why you should go. Time will pass and you will grow. Trust me... as a dude who "dated" when I was younger: The guys get better the older you get.
