i come from indonesia.now,i live with my mom and her husband in USA.i have a problem about my education.before i came here,i was on 2nd year for my accounting degree.then i decided to come here.i would like to finish my study here but everything doesn't go well.my 1st problem is money.it is expensive to go to college here. 2nd,i should take esl courses first before i continue my study.n it takes a lot of money and time.my mom only a waitreses at japanese rest and my father cant help me.i would like to take esl course at univ of delaware.for one level it only take 2 months and the cost is approx $2000. if i start from the beginning level it will take one year.and the subtotal of the cost for esl courses are >$12000. it is too much for only a english courses.i hav 3 opinions.1st, i take the courses and continue my study, no matter the cost will take.2nd,i go back to my country and continue my study,or i focus on saving money and then go back to my country.
well,i dont feel homey here.

Try www.fastweb.com. They have lots of scholarships available and someone in your position and from your background seems to have great potential getting merit-based AND need-based financial aid. Also, talk to the financial aid office at the Univ. of Delaware and see if you can get scholarships through the college. Also, I know it's not an attractive option, but there are student loans too. With an accounting degree, it shouldn't take too long to pay them off-certainly not as long as it would take to save up the money without the degree. It's definitely an investment.

Well I think that there is no place like home..... home is where the heart is though. And if you love indonesia then why take that from you? I mean were you forced to come here or did you come by your own choice? I say that if school is better in your country then go back home. But if you are looking to expand your horzions then there is a way. You can get on the internet and look for free english classes or cheap adult ESL classes where you live. There are places like alternative educations schools that offer classes for adults either free or real cheap.....
