She says she doesn't know what she wants and doesn't really care... i.e. "it would be pretty in a church, but may be too much work... I know my heritage is catholic and all of my family would be confused / disappointed... but I don't like the fact that priests molest children... my fiance (presbetyrian) doesn't really care but is concerned b/c his brother recently converted to catholicism after marrying a catholic and having their first baby -- he doesn't want to get forced into anything... I know I should, but I don't know if I 100% want to... blah, blah, blah...."
I have shared with her how as I got older (I am 30 she is 28) religion became more important, and the wonderful experience my husband I had in pre-cana and having a catholic ceremony. My sister and her fiance are a wonderful, adorable couple -- part of me wants to stay out of this, but I also feel the responsibility of helping to guide her when she (as I was) is a little lost on religious faith. Thanks for your advice!

You can't force anyone against their will. I'm sure it's because you care about your sister, but if she's not going to be swayed, then she'll have to take a plunge for herself - just try to show her how happy you are with your husband, but don't force her, usually that just pushes people farther away.

I would not get involved. It's her wedding, let her have it her way. It's between her and her fiance.
P.S. Regarding your comment "but I don't like the fact that priests molest children..." leads me to think that you believe that this pertains to all priests, which is unequivocally untrue. Yes, there are priests who have molested children, but the majority of priests are decent, loving men who have devoted their lives to God and their faith. Whether or not people agree with that faith does not matter. But not all priests are perverts.

Don't push too hard.
Suggest that they attend a Pre-Cana workshop whether they get married in the Church or not.
This may help them make up their minds.
With love in Christ.

Stay out of it. It's her wedding and her choice as to where to get married. Sounds like you already have told her your point of view, so just back off and let her decide. She's only 2 years younger than you, I think she's old enough to decide.

It is not your wedding or your choice. While your intentions are admirable, my advice would be to support her choices. No sense in turning a joyous occasion into a family feud or at the least creating hard feeling and resentment.

Why does she have to get married in a Catholic Church? It's her wedding she should get married whatever she likes.

Let her decide what she wants. It's her life to live...and if she regrets anything they will be her regrets.
Remember....religion is not as important to some people as it is to you. Accept it with an open mind. Have you considered that perhaps spirituality is enough....without religion? The church of god is everywhere....because all gods are ONE.

The Rio has a beautiful beach with waterfall area and it is such a fun town! My sister got married there and it was the first wedding I have ever enjoyed.

It's her wedding, not yours. She's a grown woman and should make her own decisions. You will only alienate her if you force your opinions on her.
