the closest Chinatown to Oregon is in Vancouver, BC

its about 300 miles, if you are taking the I-5, anticipate about 5-7h with HOWEVER.. if you get stuck in rush hour around Sea-Tac corridor it could take quite a bit longer, also border lines can be long depending on when..

be advised that July 1 is Canada's National Holiday is July 1, and of course you have July 4 - so border lines tend to be pretty long around those holidays. To the end of July August 1 is also a statutory Holiday in BC.

re: Chinatown - Vancouver has the old tradional Chinatown in the old part of Downtown - lots of character but a little rough around the edges.. Great food though, Hons Wonton on Keefer is legendary and quite inexpensive... Floata or nearby Pink Pearl for the best in dimsum. They have a night market on Keefer St, on weekend evenings. Be sure to check out the Sun Yat Sen Classical Chinese Gardens...

Outside of Vancouver, in the southern suburb of Richmond, (you'll actually drive through Richmond en route from border) is the "new school" Chinatown around Arbedeen Centre - way more high-end and mall-like - no history to it but more shopping.. they have a HUGE nightmarket there as well.
