Yes it is very important to vote. I have been voting in elections since I was 18. And I take voting very seriously. I think it is important to weigh the issues...the candidates and to choose the best person for the job. Or as my mother used to say the lesser of two evils. I vote with pride...even though you might not agree with the president he is doing what he needs to do to keep the American people safe. I think if some Americans would travel out of the US and to other contries they would have a better understanding of how lucky we are to live in this country.

I used to say that "you have no right to complain if you didn't vote." I don't truly believe that anymore. If you are informed, and pay attention the the issues, or people you are going to vote for, and you decide that you would rather NOT vote than vote for the lesser of two evils then you have every right to voice your opinion. If you don't vote just because you don't care, or some other silly reason then, NO, you have no right to complain. But if you feel strongly about an issue or a candidate, then by all means, exercise your right.

Yes, I vote. I have always voted since 1971 and will continue to vote as along as I'm allowed to. Very few of the presidents I have voted for won (Carter was the last) and although I question the honesty of elections these days, I will continue to vote. I think that everyone of legal age should vote and that you really have no business complaining about the way things are if you don't. I don't trust electronic voting machines. It is too easy to manipulate data.

Sometimes. Again, it depends on whether there is a choice worth making, whether the effect of voting is significant enough so it is worth the time and effort. On local issues I almost always vote. For example, there was recently a referendum in the town where I live that overrode ridiculous tax restrictions, and I voted on that. I thought it is important for a town to have schools, fire stations, libraries and so on and so forth. Usually the local elections make some kind of difference, beyond that it is… If my state were a swing state, I would vote against Bush and his kind always.

I vote. But I am an informed voter. Many people aren't, and they shouldn't vote. Sometimes I wish there was an intellegence test for potential voters to ensure idiots are not allowed to vote. Also there should be a mechanism in place to prevent illegals and "dead people" from voting.

Yes voting is important, but the fool that votes hurts the process more than he/helps it.

II once had a teacher who believed that people who don't know what they're doing shouldn't vote. It makes sense. I thought of that often after the 2000 and 2004 elections. I lot of people vote that just don't have a clue. I think there should be a mandatory eligibility test before voting ...so we eliminate the folks without a clue ...and we don't do this again.

I was brought up to exercise personal freedom and that comes with responsibility. I have always voted, always. I think of the people overseas who can't vote or the ones who travel many, many miles just so they can vote. They should be such an inspiration to all of us. However, I can totally understand the apathy of today's young people because even I am beginning to think that my vote doesn't matter anyway. I think it's a no-win situation, but as long as I have the freedom to exercise my right to vote, I will.
