I am a born again Christian (Methodist).
3 main reasons:
1. It is often brought up in the wrong setting.
2. Asking to understand is fine. Unfortunately, many Christians use this and other opening lines as a pretense to witness and promote Christianity to strangers (i an certain you have heardd some of these - my favorite is "I am taking a survey."
Personally, I hate this practice. I consider it degrading to lower the promotion of Christianity to a cross between a con job, a mailer, and an infomercial.
In addition, this method is highly ineffective. Not only is the recipient insulted, it numbs the person to the real message.
In modern day society, witnessing is best done by example, friendship, and invitation to join you in Church or at a Church gathering. This is what brought me to Christianity.
3. Inside and outside religion, there is a resentment toward the active participation of religious groups in politics. Personally, I consider there to be numerous warnings against this in the Bible, including Revelations. Power corrupts. All politics is corrupt or becomes corrupt. The Church needs to be kept separate from this.

I don't have anything against Christianity or Christians, but I have a problem with homophobia, racism and sexism.
We find these in any and all religions because racists and homophobes sexists will use whatever material they find to their advantadge.
Mainly I don't like smug people. There are a lot of smug atheists and smug Christians.
I sometimes am on here and I make fun of smug Christians. I also embarras the smug atheist once in a while. Whats cool is when they give me best answer for it.
Example they will say what about all the evil that christians did look at the crusades and I will say thats nonsense look at all the evil atheists have done, its not a game of score.

Many Christians nowadays feel the need to convert (or force) their religion on non-believers, which puts a lot of people down. I've had people tell me i'm going to hell because I don't go to church or read the bible, and they always end the sentence with "don't worry, i'll SAVE you..."
I think "saving" or imposing one's relgion upon another person invades their right as a human being to believe in whatever he/she wants to...I think it's just plain wrong!
I have had more problems with close-minded Christians...selling religious items at a school DURING SCHOOL HOURS, guilting non-believers into thinking they are going to hell if they don't put Jesus in their lives...
I mean it's one thing when someone WANTS to become Christian...but a lot of it now is just with some people things have gotten WAY out of hand

Christians expect society to cater to them alone. Christians want capital "G" god in the government, in schools, on TV, and in their neighbor's house. They use their religion as impetus and justification for discriminating against other races, gays, women, other religions, atheism, science, literature, nudity, politicians, single mothers, rock n roll, heliocentrism, and freedom in general.
It's not okay to pursue any religion just because it is a religion. You are still accountable as a human being to scrutinize it, and think critically. You must judge everything against your own moral scale, or at least the golden rule. Don't be fooled. Your religion did not invent morality, love, or responsibility--we own these concepts already; we don't have to lease them for 10%. And it is your responsibility to hold your religion subject to them.

Some Christians are snotty and arrogant and downright rude. Some, not all. My brother is a devout Christian, he was even the pastor of his church. He is the gentlest, kindest, most thoughtful person alive.
But others who call themselves Christian are so full of bitterness and judgement, and it's so to be around. I really wanna argue with them 'cause I I'll win (I have a knack for that, hehe!) but I hold my tongue. No, I'd rather not do that to someone and shame myself in the sight of God.
Not all Christians, please, only some.

I'm a Christian, and I get mad at Christians also because so many of us are so obnoxious. Although I do think there's too much of a backlash also, ultra-sensitive anti-Christians if you will. I do agree though with something Gandhi said: "The whole world would be Christian if Christians behaved more like Christ."

Example
a christian approaches you and starts talking about Jesus. the two get it to a long conversation, the Christians finally says "It your Choice" as to pressure the other person into accepting. however the other person says I choose not to believe that, then the christian goes into a frenzy and can not accept the other person choice.
Its not Jesus its the christian mentality that makes people angry
