Based on my reseach, I am told that several things across the United States are now taught in school:
1. The Mexican War was won by a barbarous people and it's Mexican children's birthright and responsibility to take the land back.
2. That knowledge of race isn't taught, but taught in a way to make white people feel guilty for all the conflicts that their ancestors have been in before them and the cause for much of how the world is today.
When I went to school, it was a different time and nobody ever talked about any of these issues. I can give sources, but they can be long to read. Any takers care to comment?

1.no
2.no
i didnt feel guilty and my teacher didnt make it seem like it was their birth right to take the land back, maybe you should actually look at classes first hand and judge ur hypothesis on that instead of reading second hand info and believing it

To begin with, I'm not in school. College educated and what I consider an analytical person in some respects. But your question is far, far apart from plenty here so I take liberty to answer.
1. Yeah. True. Taught. You have to remember the times and what they cull information from for history texts. It's history as written. Now granted this is why their are authors on the market who expose what they believe to be inconsistencies in history. You I suspect are a reader of such literature or if not...soon will be. But think about a deeper question. Walk up to anyone on the street today. Anyone. Ask.."Who won the Mexican War?" The American Civil War still portrays the South as the bad guys with the evils of slavery. Hence we go on to the next part......
Two... true also. All too many times people will shout prejudice and folks scramble for cover. For the most part unless you actually shout a slur or say something stupid while in any high profile job, an issue can be made. Times changed. Maybe not for the best or the worst. Like it or not. Know what though. As a white guy I don't feel one bit of guilt. I'm second generation American from immigrants. They all worked and made their lives and here I am today. I myself have never owned slaves. Although regardless of color I could use a few to help me clean my garage.
Hope that sums up my opinion in a nutshell. I'll just take my soapbox and leave.
Thanks for asking a thought provoking question and good health.

This is why Americans, and legal immigrants must unite, against the third world thinking that is going to be the demise of our country
Be an Advocate for Americans and Legal Immigrants from all nations. Stand strong and sign every petition you can get your hands on against illegal aliens being given amnesty, or Civilian Rights in America. Give these honors only to those who earn it, the legal immigrants. Can you imagine what would happen if the estimated 12 million illegals did leave. Americans would have jobs, our industry could be restored to support the American people, and not slavery. Our schools could actually afford to operate, with the estimated 8 million illegal children that are currently recieving an American child's education, while an American parent pays for it, gone.
My heart goes out to the legal immigrants of America, especially if they do not unite with the American People to protect our borders, then they will lose their businesses, homes, and all else that they have earned. That is what is happening to hard working Americans for not standing up for themselves, and it will happen to you.
Legal immigrants are just as aware that illegals are stealing their documents, and id's as well, and they are losing just as much as Americans.
Stand for freedom, put an illegal to the curb, is what I say.
As an American I can lose my job for committing a crime, but Illegals committed a crime before they ever stole a job.

You can read all the sources you want, all the books you want, but based on your experience and knowledge you form your own criteria. Times change and history changes with it. Information we didn't have before is now available because researchers need years to study and have evidential proof of what happened in a certain period of time. People tend to refer to race, when really it's more a cultural aspect they mean. This is actually the cause of civilization clashes around the world.

I remember my history class, and it really depends on how the teacher puts it. One history teacher made it seem that the americans basically did still most of Mexico's land and kept changing their border until it finally ended up being Rio Grande.
A second teacher basically put down George Washington and stated that George Washington was known as the father of our country because he was "the father of our country". She went into detail about how he basically had several children with a lot of women. Like I said it all depends on how the teacher persieves the past.
Just like I have certain views about the past and so does everyone else.

Barbarous people?!? WTF man it's Americans you're talking about show some f*cking respect man! Birth right?!? Are you serious? The only thing the Mexicans are taking back is their illegal immigrants! White people ARE guilty of the past conflicts, but they were all necessary and played vital roles in history and of course, the founding of the USA. I'm a mexican-american but I proudly embrace the american in me and find no problems in how things are taught.

My school never said a thing about the mexican war but they sure pushed it down our throats to hate being white. Some people fell for it and became wiggers.

I am sure that those things could be interpreted by someone who wanted to see them. I am an education major, and it is certainly true that less emphasis is trying to be put on race...all races because it should be society's goal to be accepting of everyone no matter their background. (I am white by the way and these are my observations.)

Because friggin liberals have taken over!!!!!! It's the "oprah-fication" of America, and, as a student, I'm sick of all this bs that is being spoon fed into kids' heads that don't have the ability to formulate their own opinions because they're too immature and they are only getting one side of the issues. :-((((((
