The letters were used to display some names. We took the letters off and the glue remained. We tried goo-gone. Did not work.

believe it or not ...try peanut butter. smear it on, let set a few minutes, then wipe off with a dry rag.

Try mayonaise - that gets off the gunk left by tags on refrigerators. If that doesn't work, fingernail polish remover, but that might ruin the surface so try a little spot first.

WD-40 or any similar petroleum based solvent.

Hairspray.... Or WD40 <----- (it works better)
