A TB test, or a PPD, is pretty simple. It feels like a shot. A little sting, but not too bad....and it only lasts a second. The doc takes a teeny little needle and injects a little bit of stuff under the skin of your forearm. Then they look at it in 48 hours to see if your body had a reaction to it.

Don't worry....it's easy stuff. Just grit your teeth and don't watch.

The TB shot is administered in the upper forearm. It does sting a little, but is in noway painful. The needle is very small. The fluid from the shot forms a little bump at the site. Aproximately 2 to 3 days later the site is inspected for abnormality, ie, reddness or large rings protruding from the site.

I haven't had a TB test in a long time, but I seem to recollect that it was pretty much painless.

About like a mosquito bite, just a little sting.
