I don't know what to do....
I don't know how long to do it for....
I want to work mostly my upper body i.e. My chest, and Abs.

The best way to build up fast and not get board with it is to do a split routine.

5 days a week.

Mon, wed, fri, Do Legs, back & Bi-ceps.

Tues, thrus, Sat, Do Chest, Shoulders, and tri-ceps.

This will give you a heck of a good work out. You can do this in less than 45 mins per day. I did it in 20 mins per day.

Do three sets of 10 or 12 reps with free weights. Get someone to spot for you.

"Weight Training For Dummies" is an excellent book for workout plans, teaching correct weight training concepts, etc. "Fitness For Dummies" is an excellent book to learn how to improve your cardio performance.
