closer relationship commitment

2006-06-22 12:14:46 · answer #1 · answered by PP 1 · 0 0

The point of getting married varies to some degree from couple to couple. But, I would say the point of getting married is to enter into a covenant(promise) with the other person. Now this just isn't any promise, obviously, it's supposed to be one of great commitment.

The commitment works in a couple of ways too. 1. you are committing to each other and to be there for each other etc. 2. You are committing to being exclusive, which should give you both a greater sense of security. Additionally, this exclusivity in the relationship protects both of you against a lot of unnecessary hurt and problems.

Economic and convenience benefits are also a factor. There are financial benefits as well as hopefully work distribution ones, and a lot of healthy couples tend to compliment each others strengths and weaknesses.

It is the ultimate commitment. If you love someone enough to give them everything especially your heart then marriage is the one thing that proves that you are serious that you want that person and that person only. It shows that you have a love that can only be explain through the vows of marriage. And if you do not believe that you have any of the above then there is no point to marriage

My mother has always told people planing on getting married that you had better look deep before you leap.

Marriage... Hmm... Let's see...

In my opinion, Marriage is the collection of all the wonderful days that you get to spend with that special someone for he rest of your life. It's a way of spending your life of getting to know one another on the much more deeper level of emotions, feellings, and understanding. You'll be able to see your partner from a different point of view and how everything seems to fit so wonderfully together. It's a chance to know each other and be with each other on the higher level than "Girl/Boy-friend," know each other so well that you can understand one another without even speaking, and in the same time to make your dreams for a happy and beautiful life become a reality.

This is the bright side of Marriage, and if you have a mutual honesty, trust, love, care, understanding and appreciation for one another, as well as willing to stay together and work out any difficulties that you might/will face in your lives... It will feel and come natural to you without any worries and problems. Even though problems will come up, you'll be able to solve them together as a Team :)

what's the point of not getting married?

So, you can be there for each other, care for each other and have a family together. The take care of each other part: If one of you loses your job you have the other, if one of you has surgery or out of it somehow the other can take care of things, etc. etc. You have someone to depend on if you're going through a tough time. You don't have to worry about going through something alone. But it only works smoothly if you're in it for the long haul. Unconditionally.

The point of getting married is to show your true dedication and loe to that person. It shows you truely believe that you were made for each other and you will live together with love.

For some its about love work and commitment,, caring enough to want to make someone's life better,, for others it seems to be about child support and alimony.

So the woman doesn't have to work after she takes your money. You get the benefit of a dwindling sex life in exchange.

It's a promise. It's the vow that no matter what in life, you will be faithful to this one person whom you love no matter what.
