The assistant at the vet's office when I picked him up (the Vet had gone home already) said to watch it and call if it gets worse. However, I just read that this could be a sign of internal bleeding, which could lead to death and requires immediate vet attention. Should I do what the guy at the vet's office said, or take him somewhere immediately? Also, he's shaking pretty violently, even when sleeping, is this normal after being neutered?

If the bleeding is just oozing, yes, it is normal. The swelling is also normal as your poor furface just had surgery. The shaking is probably a result of the anesthesia...even people get shaky and feel cold when coming down off the anesthesia.

Please email me (click on my avatar) and explain what you mean by "full of blood". That can be taken several ways and I need to know exactly what you mean by that.

It is normal for there to be some swelling and some bleeding. You can try to hold ice in it. If you think it is excessive take him to the vet's. If he is shaking violently, maybe you should go ahead and take him to the vet, or it could just be from the pain. I would call the vet and tell him the symptoms and see what he suggests.

The question is if your dog had retained testicles? If so and the surgery site is in the abdomen you should go to an emergency vet, they should not have let you take the dog home! If the surgery site is in the regular spot (if the testicles dropped like normal into the sacks) then it should be okay... your dog shouldn't bleed to death... maybe they didn't tie the cord off properly, but you should check with your vet in the morning.

I have never had a dog do that after being neutered. You might want to call the emergency vet and get a professional opinion.

I have had a few neutered and it is normal - as long as there is no pus - and the swelling doesnt get any bigger he should be ok - I would give it at least a day or 2. The vet should have prescribed antibiotics anyway and they will clear up any infection.

NOT NORMAL!!!
all my animals (3+) have been fixed, and they all slept fine. They seemed a bit drugged, but blood coming out is a BAD sign. you should contact your vet right away, and if he's not available contact an emergency vet.

When my dog was neutered he was perfectly fine, except that spot was very sensitive for a few days. If it is bleeding, you need to call right away and get him to a doctor as soon as possible. This isn't normal!

The shaking can be from pain. Without seeing the incision, I can make no comment on whether it is a normal amount of drainage or not. If you are that concerned, please seek a second opinion with an emergency veterinarian immediately. The worse they can say is its okay and give him a pain shot.

Hmmm, i think of ill ought to make a itemizing for you: a million. PETA, hypocrites (dont choose puppy possession yet run a slaughterhouse of a puppy shield the place they do undertake out pets as quickly as in a blue moon)- I do each and every thing i will to instruct that their hearts are in a great sort of the excellent place yet they have alot of extremists and extremist (IMHO) perspectives. 2. BSL, in areas the place its in consequence they are beginning up to apply labs and different non-concentrated breeds truly. I even have some thing up my sleeve yet I dont choose my theory stolen, Im interior the technique of contacting people for it. 3. BYB, I hate seeing the doggies positioned down with the aid of fact they won't in any respect walk with the aid of fact somebody bred fluffy and bruno who the two had worse than adverse hips and their doggies dont have any in any respect, if theyd have been examined there under no circumstances could have been a topic with the aid of fact they could have been fastened. If the vendors truly try for genetic subjects I say decide for it yet while no longer do the doggies a favour and connect the canines. 4. domestic dog turbines, I argue with Petland workers approximately how terrible they are. on the community Petland the place I stay a number of my acquaintances labored there and informed yet another chum to no longer purchase a Yorkie domestic dog with the aid of fact it had a suggestions tumor and alter into going to die quickly. 5. needed S/N, they dont enforce it for stupid people why enforce it for the only people who will pay attention, the in charge ones. 6. In particular, Labrador BYBs, Ive been analyzing further and extra often of those canines having aggression/"snapping" problems. they are being bred to overlook approximately discomfort and worry this is a terrible theory, i for my section think of that the doggies being produced have a sort of "doggie" autism, persons are asserting that Fido is randomly snapping having mentioned that if i replace into autistic and a few youngster pulled my tail truly difficult and that i didnt comprehend what to do identity probable freak too. this could sound severe yet once you seek for Lab Aggression you will get alot of help boards and articles on "worry" biting yet I dont think of it truly is with the aid of fact they are meant to be too friendly to worry issues... sturdy Lab breeders ^^ dont seem to have those problems
