I don't mean to be racist or 'religionist' (if there is such a term with a prejudicial twang), but the hypocrisy beggars belief. Oh, and please, no 'defenders of the faith'... you'll just show yourself up.

It depends on the Muslim. Like Christianity, there are lots of different interpretations of the faith, and lots of people trying to force the faith to fit around what they *want* to believe (To quote Mr Hicks, "I believe what God *meant* to say was...").

Apparently some christians are trying to 'reinterpret' one of the ten commandments from "Thou shalt not kill" to "Thou shalt not murder", and then interpret murder in such a way that if the state kills, it's not murder. All so they can justify the death penalty.

You've got to admire the effort they've gone to. Most people just turn a blind eye.

Aaaanyway, soon the Flying Spaghetti Monster will return, and sort all those heretics out.

Ramen.

Arrogance has no place in Islam. If anyone is arrogant, they must not be very good Muslims. But it's very bad to generalise. I know alot of Arabs and they are sweet and have helped me alot.
Maybe they have been arrogant because of how they have been brought up. Or many because of their wealth?
When you mean converts - do you mean convert to Islam? Or from Islam to another religion. In Islam, it is the biggest sin to associate partners with Allah. So if you convert from being a Muslim to another religion, it is a sin. So, maybe that's why they dislike converts to a different religion.
But if you are a convert to Islam, forget everyone else. You will be rewarded more times for a good deed than a born Muslim would be. So, be happy! :)

Muslims are thoroughly indoctrinated. They go to religious school from 4 years old to 7 or even 11 in some places. This is all day and only to teach and instil religion.

Like many faiths they believe they are the chosen ones of their God.

Unfortunately the Muslim religion seems designed to allow religious fanatics to subvert it for their own purposes.

Please do not paint every one with the same tarbrush. For every rude or offensive one out there, there are many times more good peaceful and polite ones.

Well..this is all about norms and values got nothing to do with religion am i right?

I cant really comment or give idea about this to much cause i never met such person before. However, in Malaysia, we really welcome and treat our new muslim brother and sister with open arms, and we treat our other religions brothers n sisters with open arms too..

This maybe (for ur Q) due to the different sect they are practising i presume..anyway respect other people as we want them to do the same to us.

world PEACE

As an Arab Muslim, I never snub any converts, actually I and a convert are considering opening new buisness in Madina, Saudi Arabia.

well, we shouldn't call this arrogance but a huge misunderstanding. actually, converts don't speak arabic, and arabic is the language of Coran, so that doesn't make communicatio very easy, but i don't think there's arrogance;
but remember, all men are equal for God in Islam; no difference between arab and non arab, or between black and white only by considering faith.

well, ur generalising. not all arabs are like that, but i am a non arab muslim and i have recieved some arrogance from a few ppl, but a lot of them are very nice and even the ones that arent became nice to me after i got to know them. soo....... i guess it has to do with them being arab. they might think theyr'e better coz arabia is islam's homeland, but islam itself makes it very clear that all muslims are equal.
