They usually start around 3 months and will be done around 6 months. You probably will not see the puppy lose it's teeth. They swallow most of them, but every once in a while, you'll find one on the carpet.

Puppies start teething at around 3.5 months and will lose the first tooth at 4 months. This will carry on for another 2 to 3 months. The new teeth are not as sharp as the baby teeth, are very white and much bigger. New teeth will come in shortly after the baby teeth as the adult teeth push the baby teeth out. The new teeth come in once a baby tooth has fallen out. This is an ongoing process and the teeth do not come all at once. Don't forget, they also will lose the canines (fangs)and molars. In my experience most dogs will finish teething at 7 months. This means the whole process will be completed, from the loosening, falling out and growth of adult teeth. Once the adult teeth are in, thats it, no more teething or new teeth. If your dog loses an adult tooth it will not grow back. Give him things to chew. Ice works well, they love it and you can flavour it with beef or chicken broth.

anywhere from 3 to 5 months is when teething starts and it last for approxiamately 3 months. Most of the time the dog just swallows the teeth after breaking them free.
