Yes, the choice we get to make is whether or not we accept our sexual orientation. While we are not yet sure about what determines being lesbian, bisexual, gay, or straight, there is increasingly strong evidence pointing towards biological factors that are in place before birth. But no one knows for sure.

We do know that sexual orientation is usually established before puberty and before people begin having sex with other people. And although sexual orientation probably begins to develop before birth, it may change over the course of a lifetime.

We know a few other things for certain, too:

* Sexual orientation is not a matter of choice.
* It is not a disease.
* It cannot be "cured" through therapy or medical treatment.
* No amount of pretending will make you different than you are.

And most importantly, all sexual orientations are perfectly normal.

Hope this information helps!

There are gay people because i see it like this, sometimes sexuality can be an exploration a process of discovery, why not allow young adults or whomever to explore with their bodies and minds in a sane and healthy way their sexuality..?

Being gay is by nature - not by choice. Gay people offer real love and great sex. Those things are NOT found everywhere. Try it.
