Do guys date single women with a child?

Question

I'm just wondering if guys these days would be willing to date a single woman with a child. Why or why not?

My child's father and I have been having problems since before he was born. I recently broke up with him. He lives in a different state than us and he will for the next year. I don't trust him. I don't know if I should try to work it out with him. As far as I know he's never cheated on me but he's a big flirt. I'm starting to think the only reason i'm even trying with him is because of our child. I don't know what I should do.

You're an adult, so you can decide who you want to date...a guy having a bunch of kids wouldn't appeal to me, but other women wouldn't be bugged by it...just realize that means there are at least 4 women in his life that he probably associates with on some level, regarding the children they share (even if they are all grown)... Your use of caps doesn't seem to make sense...if your family says you should not date a SINGLE man who has adult children by different women, that implies it would be okay for you to date a MARRIED one... Do what works for you...apparently he's fertile and not into birth control methods...

When I met my girl I was 28 and she had a 3 year old. It didn't bother me at all. If the guy really likes a girl a child won't scare them off. There is an old saying "you don't just date a girl with kids" It means typically long term relationships come from this endeavor.

Yes we do, but the problem is, as a single guy. We are not the childs father, never will be unless marriage and adoption happens. I am a single dad, it scares women away just as fast

Yes, in fact, I've married one. There are lots of guys out there who will date, and/or marry a woman and a child, then raise that child as their own. Don't let it bother you though, you have a child to think about first. If any man won't accept your child, then they're not worth your time. Take your time with this, and get a good quality man.......good luck.........

Yes, guys date moms. Why not, if your an attractive woman with a good personality guy will want to date you.

Not the 'why not', is being the second fiddle. If a guy asks you out, he wants to spend time with you....not you and your kid. A parent can easly spend the whole date with their kid(and worse, kids can get very needy when they see a stranger with thier mom). lots of guys don't want to that. Even worse is Dady drama....where the kids dad still hangs around and causes problems.

I find that more guys are willing to date women with children no matter what the age, although some do tend to shy away from women with newborns or 2 yr. old only because of the children's fathers are still involve with the mom's.

If the child is young, like under 6. Older kids are more of a nuissance as we are competing for moms attention. Plus I dont want to take care of some losers kid.

There are actually some men that are willing to do this. My fiance was married to his exwife and she had a kid by another guy. If the guy likes the woman enough or loves her enough then he will usually date her.

Absolutely they do. It may be more of a challenge to find a man when you have a child, but it is worth it. You might find that your standards are different too because you have a child.
