I am in no way trying to make Islam look bad, if you read my posts you will see that I am not Conservative by any means. I just think things like these with pre-existing claims need to be called into question, and their true origins discovered.

i am a Muslim and i will tell you what's going on.these people are called shia'a.they think that the prophecy should have done to some one else i forgot who it was, so they torture them self's because as they say they did not he;p that guy get the prophecy. all that is wrong they are wrong by doing all that, these people are mostly in Iraq, that is not the way Islam works, that is not what Islam is,believe me,i am a Muslim and i know. these pictures are disturbing to me as they are to you.

I don't guarantee the validity of the source, either. I do know there is something called "female circumcision" that is practiced in the Muslim world, especially in Sudan and Egypt. What this means is that when a girl reaches the age of about 13, her clitoris is removed by a home procedure, performed by the mother without anesthetic. You can get info just by typing in "female circumcision" as a yahoo search.
There are amendments to a bill in Congress called the "Prohibition of Female Genital Mutilation Act" designed to stop the practice. It hasn't been popular enough to do any good.
