Depends; the UCMJ (Universal Code of Military Justice) goes into play here and it's up to his commanding officer what, if anything, happens. Typically in a civil matter like this the military will let the civil authorities do their thing and then they will consider taking action. So, the answer to your question is anything from nothing to forcing him to own up to his financial responsibility and maybe even general discharge.

If he is being charged by state courts for the civilian charge he can be charged again by a military court (because it is Federal, what I like to call bubble trouble)
A DUI is a big deal in the military and it mainly depends on the Post commanders policy. Most post commanders reserve the right to charge DUIs (like setting Mandatory Minimum sentences, every commander in the army has the authority to punish, the higher the commander the more punishment he can give out)

He was processed by the civilian authorities, and then released either to his unit or the Military Police, where he will be charged under the UCMJ for DWI. He will not only be punished by the civilian authorities, but also by the military.

it all depends on his unit. his unit will decide his punishment. he will definately get punished for a DUI if it was proven. for that he will get an Art. 15 which could take away rank, money and he may have to do extra duty (working after hours doing really crappy stuff like cleaning bathrooms) getting a DUI while being in the army really sucks.

Yes he will get into trouble with the Army also ( although this is in my opinion wrong, since you and I would not also get punished for something we do that is not at work)
He may get a Article 15 but at least it will go on his record.

Well, dumb@ss, you shouldn't have let Clufflebee Clown put his unworking heap-0-crap in the driveway in the first place.
Let's re-trace our steps....the ones that led up to the accident in question:
1) Your mother birthed you
2) She shops at Sams Club
3) You had a kid
4) The kid married a stain
5) The stain had a dad
........hmmm
...I know....it's your MOM's fault!
