I have 2 dogs, 1 maltese and 1 Japanese Chin. The Japanese Chin is too big to sit up top in the plane. The maltese might fit. The japanese chin was abused, so it is scared of EVERYTHING! She would die if she had to go under a plane!! So, I am thinking of taking them on a cruise ship. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF YOU CAN TAKE DOGS ON A CRUISE SHIP?

I know they take dogs on their Bahama tours.
There are no quarantine regulations in the Bahamas.
They may have others to take dogs as well.

Only service dogs are allowed on cruise ships except Cunard cruises which have a dog kennel available on board. BTW, cruise ships rarely sink anymore. When was the last time you heard of one sinking and any passengers dying because of it. The dog would be rescued just the same as a human.

you should ask your travel agent first as you will be travelling internationally and your dogs would have to be quarantined for I think about 6 months before and after your Cruise. If your dogs are aloud they may have to stay on the ship and never leave it or your room. So if you plan on going on a cruise put your dogs in a boarding kennel or with someone you know that will look after them.

I was a cruise ship photographer many years ago. It was a pretty ritzy line. I never saw a dog there and am sure they wouldn't have been welcome.

Look for a cruise just for dog lovers. They have special cruises for other things, maybe they do for that too!

Yes you can take a dog on a cruise !!! Cunard is the only line as of right now. I believe you can only take them on the transatlatice sailing, New York to England or vice versa.

It depends on if the cruise ship allows dogs. If they do, I'm sure you can, but just make sure to not let them fall into the water!

I've taken a couple of cruises and might take others in the future. Thus, my answer is: "God I hope you can't". I don't want your dogs on any cruise I've paid for. You may love your dogs but what makes you think others will and what gives you the right to inflict your dogs on other people?

Seeing eye dogs, YES
Call the cruse line and ask.
You might consider a kennel or a dog sitter.
