What happens to humans as they grow older? They return to their "baby-hood". Kitty is aging, and I is you, who must accomodate her changes.
A vet visit sounds in order, with a lot of TLC and understanding from your household. Ever heard of Alzheimer's (kittys and dogs go through the same syndromes, sad as it is). Since I've been there with one of my 2 siamese, I must be blunt and make you aware that, again, a vet visit is crucial, and your love and patience is of the utmost importance. Also, be prepared to make the decision to say "Good-bye" as I'm sure there is a heaven for all animals and they deserve the dignity of a peaceful end, if there is no other way for their lives to be lived comfortably.

Much love and many prayers to you at this time.

Good answers already. She may have peed because you were home later than usual. Getting another kitten is also a good idea, especially if kitty is home alone all day, and not just for a few hours.

Incidentally, the usual advice when introducing a new kitten to a household I've never followed. I just drop the kitten in the middle of the living room and let them sort it out on their own. I did this on a Wed. last fall, the other 2 cats hissed and spit, and the kitten (well, cat really, she was about 5 mo. old) was freaked by the dog (Doberman, who loves her kitties). This went on for a few days, and I left Sat. am for a campout, with the dog. When I returned Sun. late afternoon, the cats were all good buds, and the kitten was no longer freaked by the dog. Some sort of attitude adjustment for sure.

And I've used the "drop the kitten in the middle of the living room" thing many times, without problem, but, don't do it with an un-neutered male--I haven't, and know why that's not a good idea.

I would say your kitty definately wants to know you're around, though she might pretend otherwise. Like another said, she may well be suffering from separation anxiety.

You might consider getting her a companion. She does sound like she's lonely.

Good luck!
