I would ask you to justify the premise of this question. What makes you think that they think that they invented democracy? What do you mean "make a big deal"? Cite examples. Also, what do you mean by "pseudo-freedom"? Is it "pseudo" because the citizens aren't 100% free to do whatever they like whenever they like? There will never be a country like that. Given the state of human nature, laws and regulations will always be required.
I would suggest changing your question from this vague question about vague generalizations to something specific.
A possibly relevant point: Just because you've heard one or two American politicians say something doesn't mean that all or even most Americans would agree with it.

Well, first of all, we cant say that ALL Americans think that way.
Second, when this country was founded, George Washington and his administration actually CARED about freedom, and America was relatively free. Just because some of those freedoms are being taken away, doesn't mean they never existed - or that Americans don't live in a relatively good country, considering all the genocide that's spreading around the world.
Lastly, any person above, say, sixth grade should know that democracy originated in Athens, Greece.

Ameicans make a big deal of their pseudo-freedom and think they inventend democracy because the education system has failed them (and us). Besides, we're not a democracy anyway. It's in the Pledge of Allegiance: "...and to the REPUBLIC, for which it stands...."
Yes, we're arrogant, but we darned sure didn't write the book on THAT. HOWEVER, we're also generous to a fault and will go out of our way to help.
We may not be the most well-liked these days, and we certainly seem to be finding more ways to mess up a one-car funeral but I'm still proud to have been born and raised here, and I'm still proud to have served my country honorably (as did numerous members of my family over the years).

I'm not sure why some Americans may think they "invented" democracy, as it began in Greece a while back.
But I further don't understand why some people think they can force democracy on other countries. If Iraq and neighboring countries choose to give their women less rights than men, that is their decision. What right does another country have to go in there and tell them they can't do that anymore?

i like it whilst assclowns such as you have the gall to whinge that the U. S. has accomplished no longer something to advance freedom and democracy around the globe till this is for some selfish reason with regards to organic source or another financial benefit. meanwhile what each united states you reside in (it does no longer marvel me to be sure you reside right here interior the U. S.) helps you the liberty to write down your rancorous question because of the U. S.. The mere existence of the U. S. offered a sphere of impression and skill that stopped the Soviet Union from increasing and taking on Europe, accepted and South u.s., and something of North American. And the U. S. at the instant projects the comparable skill and impression that stops China from doing the comparable. in case you're so anti-US, i'd opt to work out you write the comparable serious assertion of China, if China have been the dominate rigidity interior the international. in case you probably did, you would be in a dank penitentiary cellular looking forward to execution once you blood variety matched the subsequent kidney purchaser's so quickly your head would spin, this is till they marched you right into a container and placed a bullet interior the back of it. of course, perfect whilst they injected you with anti-coagulants. yet once you're searching for an occasion, you're forgetting with regards to the Balkans. Kosovo has no financial supplies that could benefit the U. S., yet in 1999 we fought a conflict there. and don't you're saying, oh, it become a NATO action. the U. S. flew over ninety% of the sorties in the process the Kosovo campaign. And what did the ecu countries do? no longer something, they permit the finished Balkans fester in conflict and ethnic cleansing for years. A region perfect on their back door steps. So there is your occasion. Quod Erat Demonstrandum!

Becasue there are still so many countries that are still ruled by ruthless dictators. "Pseudo-freedom" is right on though. As free as we try to make it seem we are, there are so many things that are still obtrusive. Don't know what to tell you about the demcracy thing other than maybe it's just worked the best here becasue we make "democracy" what we want; not rue definition here in the US

Tough one.. . though I think it ultimately stems form our religous foundations. I.E: the idea of an ultimate truth... once which every christian, and most americans seem to think they have a monopoly on. (on a side note, don't get angry at people for it, just pity them for never being able to adapt to reality)
The problem is the fear of death, and the unknown(or more precise to your question, the fear of the uncontrolable, and therefore: that which can take away freedom.) The only way to combat this fear, is to believe you have obtained it's opposite. Thus faith in democracy has become somwhat analogous to faith in christ and god, though still "separate" from the state.
If you find somthing that can combat these fears, and "prove" them false to you, then you have an ultimate truth whith which you can hold above everone else's heads, after all, everyone who says otherwise is OBVIOUSLY wrong! ROFL.
