scrape, do not pinch, the stinger off.
As for remedies- the venom is an acid- some people put baking soda on it for that reason.
Papaya extract, also known more familiarly as meat tenderizer, also works to remove the unpleasant feeling. Just apply it or make a little paste of it and apply to the sting site.
The meat tenderizer and baking soda options work best if put on immediatelyh.
Ice is an option, you can also buy mint or mentholated swabs which will mask the unpleasant feeling.
Allergic reactions (shortness of breath, constriction of breathing and such) require you to use an epi-pen or visit the emergency room pronto!

First off as soon as you get a bee sting you should put ice on it to keep the swelling down and minimize the pain. But I see no reason in asking such a question when you can google it.....

When I was really little, my mom used to make a little mud patch and put it on them. It seemed to sooth the stinging.

Mud will help draw out the stinger. If you're looking for relief from the pain try solarcaine spray, it has a numbing agent in it.
