wat exactly is an athiest ... am i one............
i dont beleive in god or the devil or any other god ...but i do believe we go somewere ...not heaven or hell but somewere

i think we would go somwere like diffrent on earth

so do athiest hate people that try to turn them to god cause thats the one thing i really hate

An athiest, is exactly as you described yourself...a person who believes in nothing except the greatness and superiority of man. Yet, the belief that you go some where...but don't know where, is probably a deviation from your stated belief.
Since, you adhere to no belief, except your own, I suppose that you can qualifiy your understanding in any way you see fit.
My understanding, however, is that you were created with a void in your makeup. Not defineable by man, but placed there by God so that you would seek something outside yourself. Many people fill this void with money, sex, drugs, power....you name it...it drives men forward...but its is an insatiable need, only able to be filled by one thing. Since you deny its exsistance, you will most likely search all your life, to find the very thing you denied, was the very thing that would have completed you.

An atheist is somone who believes there is no god, no soul, and nothing after death. This is the only life, the only reality, and once it's over theres nothing else....

Agnostic is someone who doesn't know.. but believes there is SOMTHING. maybe an after life, maybe some sort of god, or collective consiousness.

Truth be told, I don't think there are any REAL truthful answers, beyond trying to find your own. The biggist hint I could give, would be two things... meditation, and remembering your dreams.

once you've got those two down... decide for yourself if you can feel anything more in the world.

And you say that you believe we go somewhere after death? Where would you even get that idea? Did you read that in some book, or did someone you believe tell you this? How absurd!
If you believe that we go "somewhere" after death, what, (or who), do you suppose controls where we go? It can't be something that's just automatic... someone or something had to create this process that you believe in?
You'd better do some research, (serious research!), on your own before exposing ignorance for all the world to see here on "Yahoo Answers"!
And also, just because "you" don't believe in God, etc., doesn't mean He doesn't exist.
Think about this: What if you're wrong? Why don't you read about what will happen to you, just in case you're wrong? Would it not be "wiser" to error on the side of safety?

An atheist can prove the non existence of God and can usually explain what they believe fairly clearly. It sounds to me like you are clearly confused. But, don't worry, so are most people about spirituality. Just read some of these questions. Oh, and Rachel, I don't believe in any religion and I am NOT AN ATHEIST.
