I know one fact, they put giant logs underneath and rolled the blocks. when the one in the back fell out, they picked it up and put it in front and kept moving. But how did they get them up? how did they make that perfect shape? also, another fact, the first pyramids were not perfect. In fact one pyramid is aptly called the Bent pyramid, because about halfway up the angle decreases from a steeper design to a rather shallow design. If anyone can give me any important or cool facts, the building techiques, mathematical information and spiritual belieifs behind it, or even a web link they would be greatly appreciated.

I have heard so many answers to this, and that puts in perspecitve that they probably used lots of methods! There was the rolling method you mentioned, also they would build ramps of debris to drag the blocks on.

To keep the building level, considerable work went into the planning. They'd dig channels and fill them with water to act as a giant level. Also they used plumb-lines to build straight. They'd plan out pyramids to align with stars, much of the time.

Another interesting thing I heard which is still just a theory is that workers could use the aide of giant kites to catch the wind and assist in pulling.... they tried an experiment a few years ago, and it does work!

Also, one reason why it took upwards of twenty years to build some pyramids was that most of the work force came from off-season farmers, so the time when there were the most workers was only part of the year.
Hope some of this helps!

According to info that I have learned they used squashed olives to lubricate long platforms in which lie against the pyramid. and had lots of people pulling and lots pushing.

they used the constellations for guide lines. They had tools for measuring and they used trial and error, hence, the bent pyramid.

oi. i know you want a well-researched answer, but i'm just doing this to kill time, not to work or anything. what i heard from my physics teacher was that they used a series of pulleys.

They had the Jews do it for them. That's what they were doing there for 500 years.
