I have been hurt by people who I thought loved me, but love in itself does not have to be hurtful. It is the people who we fall for that are wrong for us that build a situation that is not healthy. Those situations are what cause us pain.
If you find someone who does not need drama and is secure in themselves then you the likelihood of being in a hurtful relationship can be decreased.

love can be wonderful when it is with someone that treats u with respect and u are their world !
however it tends to screw u over, u end up on your own and only have you cat moggy who loves u !
I keep thinkin I am open to love but then things happen suddenly that make u think twice and I sometimes tell myself not to be stupid don't do it !
I am so confused right now

It's just the way love works. You need to endure the hurt to completely feel love.

what is so hurtful? it is so hurtful because you make it like that. love is not like a game... you don't play to win or to lose.
love is something meant to value. love is everywhere...
