it is unlikely if he thinks you are 6 weeks because of an ultrasound, it would be difficult for him to misinterpret those results because there is a big difference in development... unless your baby has stopped developing, which would cause severe problems

I believe so, I keep 10 kids literally and there is only one weekend a month I get to YOU KNOW- and I Know I got pregnant on October 1 or 2nd and they still insist that I am due on the 12 of July which is only in 2 and a half weeks but they have had to stop my labor already. If you have a pretty good idea of when you got pregnant then go by that, but when you are 4 or 5 months pregnant they will give you another one to check your fetal growth and then they usually change it. My first due date was july 25th!
So good luck because they are usually just guessing either two weeks after or two weeks before your period. I myself knew the first time also and they said I was not far along enough to give birth on October 21 1999 and they too stopped that one so I waited to go to the hospital next time I was having contractions on the 28th (7 days later) And Had an 8 pound baby boy!!! So Go with Your own instincts and good Luck!!!

They can be by two weeks either way. I was further along by two weeks than what they said. I knew it (my husband was 6 hours away in other city, I know what weekends I drove there and had sex with him), I was told I was probably covering up an affair. They let me go two weeks past the due date they gave me. That means I was a month overdue! When I gave birth to a 10lbs 4oz little boy who had a bowel movement (and therefore an infection) and had so much fluid in his lungs they couldn't get it out (not to mention he was breathing twice as fast as he should) the doctors finally admitted I was right! It was a little late but luckily I now have a very health 13 month old (who is still heavier than all the kids his age).

Doctors will tell you that the "guessing" is just that - guessing. They can only estimate how far along you are, and when you're due. If someone tells you they are definite, they are a liar.
My doc said I was due Aug 16th, but my ultrasound said Aug 10th. The ultrasound was right on (Aug 10th), but they even said it was a guess.
So to answer your question, yes - it is possible to be 9 weeks along, but he says 6 weeks. I hope this doesn't bring on any new issues for you(??).

Yes, until you have an ultrasound. I think the ultrasound is pretty accurate. A good doctor will probably pick up on the cues, though. With my first, I thought I was a month behind where I was but the doctor had a suspicion I was further along and did an ultrasound.

Doctor was a good month off for both me and my brother. I was supposed to be born the end of May, born 4/14 at 6lbs 15 1/2 oz. My brother was over 8lbs, born end of January, due first part of March.

Doctors can be off by a week or two. Mine was. All babies develop differently, in the womb and after birth. So it could be possible. Congratulations!

Doctors date it by when you tell tehm the first day of your last menstrual period. Or if you have an u/s then can guess at the size of the fetus...its a guessing game..they can be off by a week or so.

well initially the doctor goes off of what you tell him. you tell him the date of your last period and he goes off of that, so if you give him the wrong information he will be wrong. if he has done an ultrasound, he should know how old the baby is. early in pregnancy they can tell by the size of the baby how old it is. the only way he would be off by 3 weeks is if you didnt give him an accuate date of your last period.
