I was curious, about an answer I just read:

The Bible wasn't referring to a 24 hour period. A day can also refer to an unspecified amount of time, such as "back in my father's day...". The earth is millions of years old and the Bible does not disagree with that.

Could the 'Lords Day', be that far in the future? Or, is it closer to my life time? Narrow it down for me, could it actually be the day I die? Now that would be a major coincidence! Me dying and the world dying on the same day!

For John, on Patmos, the 'Lords Day' was the day he fell down 'as if dead'. And then he goes on to speak so clearly about the ressurection, and a second death. With these very new themes in Theology, could the 'Lords Day' be more than any given Sunday?

The comment about a day is a time period is right on.

The Lord's day began in 1914 when Jesus was installed as King of God’s Kingdom. And it will continue right through to the end of the Thousand Year Reign, when Christ will ‘hand over the kingdom to his God and Father.

The Bible book that tells us most about the Lord’s day is Revelation. Almost all the prophecies of this book are fulfilled during the Lord’s day. But Revelation is only the climax of a series of prophetic books that tell us about that day. Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel, among others, also tell us about it. Often, what they say helps us to understand better the prophecies in Revelation

During the Lord's day there is going to be a great tribulation at which time Jesus is going to clean up the Earth, get rid of the Satanic influence and then during the 1000 year reign the Earth will once again be restored to a paradise.

I think it can mean the day an individual recognises something and the Lord comes to live within them. I think it also means judgement day. Those who have had a "day of the Lord" and been judged and cleared by Jesus blood will not be judged. I can also mean when in God has restored Israel after periods of hardship and poverty and not knowing God.
Hope that helps!
