I belive wine is perfectly fine. If Jesus turned water into wine, it must be OK. If it was a sin to drink wine, why would he have purposely provided it. The distinction comes about when you compare consuming alcohol to drunkeness. The Bible clearly condemns drunks (drinking in excess). Therefore it is not a sin, until you have drank too much I would assume. But I guess only you and God know when you have had too much.

The bible says that drunkenness is sin. It also talks about the bad effects of alcohol on a person when they drink too much, how they do things they wouldn't normally do...how they cannot even tell if they've been beaten because it almost numbs them physically.

I know that when God called someone to take a Nazarite vow, they were not to drink any alcohol, John the baptist was not to touch it.

Alcohol, while is not inherently evil in itself, can cause evil behavior, just as money is not evil, but the love of it is the root of evil. It was also a deep part of many cultures both then and now. In those days there were health issues with the water, hence, drink the alcohol instead of the water, and alcohol was considered medicinal, as in the example where Paul said to have a little wine to help the stomach.

What is God saying to your heart? Follow your conscience on the matter...the bible says it's wrong to go against your conscience if it is telling you that something isn't right.

Yes, wine drinking was allowed, although being drunk is condemned. There are also specific people, either elders or deacons, who are not to have wine at all so they can minister well. Wine is ok. It even has health benefits. . .in moderation.

When it becomes sin is when you depend on it, whether to 'relax' or to forget or to hide. . .or when it comes between you and God. Anything that comes between you and God or your ability to serve Him is sin.

Personally, I love a glass of wine with or after dinner. But I hate to ever get drunk and I hate having more than 2 glasses cuz I feel it the next morning. Not pleasant.

Yes, I have Bible knowledge, and as soon as I saw your question the same two verses you posted (along with about 3 others) popped into my head.

Wine is in the bible, so is everything else for that matter.

Wine is not singled out as bad, Drunkeness is written about as bad, never good.

It is not wrong for a certain religion to state in their church beliefs that alcohol should be abstained from. It is a choice, not a command when it comes to the drinking of alcohol., right up until you get drunk, many people do not wish to find this line, so they stay away from it. Again it is their choice.

As with any way of worship, you certainly do not have to agree and attend.

The drinking of wine in moderation is shown as proper primarily in the condemnation of drinking wine to excess.

If everyone only drank grape juice, there would be no reason to teach about not getting drunk.

Drinking wine in moderation was taken as such non-issue that it was hardly mentioned by Jesus.

What would Jesus do? He would have a cup of wine with dinner.

With love in Christ.

Whoa whoa Noah drank and got drunk God didn't say anything, Abraham drank, Isaac Drank, Jesus drank and made more water into wine when they ran out! If its something that causes you to sin then no you shouldn't do it. For example if you drink all day instead of working to support your family then you are not loving them. Love is a stong motivater and should be our only motivation (Jacob and his love for Rachael he worked 14 years to get her). There is nothing wrong with drinkin if in moderation.

Radicals will tell you that is wrong but liberals will point where Jesus turn water into the wine. Radicals will tell you that is was not wine it was grape juice.
But they simply forget paint " Last Supper"
In all curches there is a tradition to have wine even in most radicals one. your guess is good as mine.
Bible is true because bible say it is. GOd exists because bible say so.
Therefore GOD exists.

Do we remember in the Bible when they were at the wedding and Jesus turned the water into wine? So you can drink it as long as you don't do it to get drunk.
