O.K, so I have 3 or 4 spinning reels but I would like to get a baitcaster. She doesn't fish so she thinks I'm just wasting money.

The same way she "convinces" you that she needs a new purse or pair of shoes....You go out. You buy it. Problem solved. She'll be pissed for a while, but she'll get over it.

Men don't wear makeup, 15 pairs of shoes, carry different purses for different seasons of the year either. I trust she still "needs" those. Start fishing tournaments. It sounds more offical to say I have a tournament than to say I am going fishing. If you like competition and fishing you will enjoy the heck out of tournament fishing. If it is bass you like, explain you need the power of the baitcaster to get your bass out of the lilly pads when fishing a frog. I have 12 poles rigged and ready. Now I can just buy them and she has no idea really. If you have kids, hand down one of your poles and replace it with a new one. You could "accidentally" break your oldest, worst working reel and then need to replace it. Good luck, don't be dishonest, it will make the trip less relaxing wondering if she will figure it out or not. Explain the joy you get out of fishing and ask her if she would rather have you spend the money on beer, strip clubs, junk food, etc. or have a nice piece of equipment that will last for years. You can blow $60-$100 in a bar in one night. We do it all the time here in Wisconsin so the reel is a good investment.

Don't be stupid! She was blowing him. If your marriage is fairly strong, then talk to her about the situation. She may just be bored and likes the excitement of cheating. If YOU can handle it, suggest having a threesome to spice up your sex life. Set some ground rules like no playing without the other spouse being present or knowing about the encounter. If that does not sound like an option then marriage counseling is in order. Will you ever be able to forgive her? Good luck.

Tell her you'll make her a deal, and that she can go to the mall and buy anything she wants for the same value as the baitcaster.

tell her that having another fishing pole is a necessity. kinda like having a kitchen sink. then ask her how relaxed and happy you are when you come home from a fishing trip. in my opinion fishing is the greatest mental health tool out there for a man.

Why do you need her permission to buy a fishing rod ???? If you do then just go out and buy it,,,,Its easier to get her forgiveness than her permission. And pick yourself up a nice skirt while your at it,,,,cause I see she wears the pants in the family,,,,,

Is there a special occasion coming soon, like an anniversary or birthday? If so, then tell her that is what you would like as a gift.
