Did you post this question for a reaction? Surely you knew you were going to piss a lot of people off. It may well be crapping in your garden but it's nature, the cat doesn't know it's doing anything wrong. It spits at you because you are frightening and hurting it. There are many deterrents you can use to stop the cat coming in to the garden, you can get electronic devices which omit a sound which cats don't like, you get set up a lawn sprinkler, you could also try filling up 2litre pop bottles label removed with water and laying them flat on the lawn.
I must say that kicking a cat is disgusting and shows a lack of intelligence (not finding out about deterrents) and a lack of compassion/respect for nature. As others have said what goes around comes around it's so true.

I think you would be spitting if someone kicked you up the bottom in the middle of a crap.

You should consider getting a litter tray in your garden, you are being a terrible host, fancy not providing toilet facilities for the neighbours cats! I shouldn't wonder if your lawn is covered in crap!

Oh, and 9 out of 10 cats prefer Andrex!

That's hilarious.Oh yeah think of it this way if you really badly needed to use the bathroom and you went to somebody's lawn to use the bathroom and they caught you and kicked you on your bottom you obviously be pisse about it right?Yeah so next time it does that go get a spray bottle with water in it and everytime you catch it fouling in your garden just spray. And trust me this method always works and soon the stupid cat would get the message.

Hey, I don't know about why it spits on you but man you should see what the laws are in your city for keeping animals under control. You shouldn't have to put up with it's crap!!!! And as for all you who are like "your being cruel" how would you like it if I let my cat's come poop in your lawn, garden etc.? Like I said man check with the city or kill that kitty (just kidding). And if the city doesn't do anything catch it and send it to the pound!!!!

Because you have attacked the cat. In the cat's point of view, he regards your garden as part of his territory. You can place netting over the area of garden that you want the cat to foul. Or get a tom cat and he will assume your garden as territory and this will deter the neighbour's cat.

Let me add my voice to the chorus of condemnation of your behavior toward an innocent creature. You seem to have forgotten the piece of earth you lay claim to does not really belong to you. If anything we can call it a stewardship. Animals know no boundaries and we have to respect that. If God had any qualms about cats peeing in what you call 'your' yard, He would have taught them to read.
If you're looking for the stairway to heaven, look no farther than this cat. He's an agent of God, come to test you. Will you pas the test?

Get one of those sonic things that cats can hear (and other small animals too I believe) or get the spray you can use on your garden, otherwise you could be done for animal cruelty, and be fined and/or imprisoned.

Ahahahahahahaha! Nice one! We have the same problem but just the sight of my fella in his steel toe cap boots is enough to make the cats flee!
