Clearly they did not know the Father or the Son. They were the anti-Christs of that day. Right?

Yes.

1Jo 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

1Jo 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
1Jo 2:23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: but he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

1Jo 4:2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
1Jo 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
1Jo 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
1Jo 4:5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.
1Jo 4:6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

They knew neither the father nor the son. However, they were jewish priest, they were teachers of the law, they were pharasees ~ some of them were people that the savior came and died for. The rest however were blinded ~ so that they looked and kept on looking but couldn't perceive nor did they understand with their hearts, lest their eyes should be openned.

Unfortunately, No ~ they were not the anti-christ. The jews of that day(including the present day jews) still await their savior, who would be the Messiah that will redeem them from all their troubles. That Messiah will meet every prophesy mentioned in the Holy Bible and in their Bible(which does not have the new testament) ~ except one. That Messiah will be the Anti -Christ. It will take the jews three and half years to realise that their Messiah is not the real Messiah. On realising that, they will also realise that Jesus is the true Messiah(the Christ) ~ but it will be too late to turn to Jesus for forgiveness. The door to the lamb of God will be closed, the preachers would have ceased preaching. Then, the only thing which will be remaining for the jews to do - will be to oppose all that the anti-christ will want to do. Some will try even to death, some will give up trying and yield to whatever the guy wants. Those who oppose him even unto death will make it heaven ~ but those who give up will be forever spend their eternal lives in hell.

You might not be around to see all this happen ~ so you know what to do.

What Jesus was pointing out to them is that they had let religious practices become more valuable than the love and mercy of God. It is clearly stated in the new testament that the law was given only after the children of isreal cried out for it at Mt. Sinai and it's purpose was to show mankind that they were incapable of following the letter of the law, that we needed God's grace and mercy. David new this very well. He did some terrible things in his life, and was still called the man after God's own heart. He had faith in God's ability and willingness to take care of him, even when he knew he'd done wrong. That is what mercy is. The priests in Jesus' day had simply lost sight of the goodness and mercy of God, the same as we all do.

The word Christ is a Greek word meaning the Anointed One or the Messiah. Technically anything that goes against the nature of Jesus is anti-Christ. Deceipt, anger, jealousy, doubt, unbelief, strife, these are all things that we display toward one another and all of these things are "anti-Christ".

What an agnus dei is supposed to say is above human comprehension except if explained in lain terms. There was an antichrist of that time, Hasan Haleim also known as Judas Iscariote nowadays. Joshua Halik was christ as other six men, and what he said as a joke is: nothing comes to the father without coming first to me. It is offencive and male, you will understand commitment is important amidst the family members and love is originary of the sons in order that the father is respected too. The thought is sweet and thruthfull, nonetheless. Sometimes acads and hitits are called jewish, this is plain humor just like calling an american continental or ambiguous. You will like the kindness of regarding the inner nature of animals all alike surrendering of the nature that is respected in achieval of grandeur and generosity itself. Bye.

In this particular situation, the priests...the leaders of God's people, had all the information they needed to be able to tell who Jesus was. They had all the scriptures and the prophesies, and still..because they were more concerned about their positions...they refused to acknowledge Jesus as the Christ. Jesus, already very angry with them by the time He tells them this, is simply stating the obvious. If they had been more concerned about God, and leading His people, then they would know who He was...but they neither knew God, nor Jesus, who was sent by Him. Thus, no, they did not know either of them...but only because of a choice they made. The same one that many of us make each day.

Weellll, I guueesss. Maybe. I really don't know. The Jewish Priests THOUGHT they knew God, and they didn't believe that Jesus was the Son of God. They didn't think he fulfilled all of the prophecies. I know they weren't Anti-christs because there will only be ONE anti-christ, and we'll know him when he comes. That's a very good question though, I'll have to think on it. Thanks for giving me some food for thought. God Bless

While Jesus was certainly scolding the Pharisees, he was not calling them the Anti-Christs. He was pointing out that they had allowed themselves to become so involved with details that they had allowed the law to become more important than life. Looking at the early Old Testament, it is certainly easy to do that, and the Pharisees had not taken into account many of the teachings of King David.

Yes! Law = anti christ. The Pharisees were all about law and appearances. If they believed the OT prophecies about the savior, if the believed God's promise to Abraham (which was made even before the law) - they would know already about grace and peace and love, and that all were equal in the eyes of God.

Actually, they thought they did know GOD.

Jesus was letting them know that they stopped exploring the forest, because they got hooked by a tree.

They began living off the law of Moses, and instead of taking it at face value, began adding to it. Making exceptions and more rules and their whole lives became about the rules and more rules and the punishment of those that broke them.

Jesus said, surely you have lusted, thus committed adultry, for all have sinned ( not an actual quote, just summerized)

They were so deep into their rules, that they couldnt see the salvation in front of their own faces.

Jesus is just saying "I am the Son of God" basically, and you have to remember thatJesus was Jewish so he wasn't necesarily insulting the Jewish priests.
