Is Sony Cyber-shot a reliable brand for digital cameras?

Sony is a reliable brand with carl zeiss lens which is actually manufactured by sony instead of carl zeiss themself. For general purpose, the camera is excellent but if you want something more robust, with more features and excellent quality (at least 3 times better quality than sony), go for Canon.

THERE IS NO COMPARISON OF CANON WITH ANY CAMERAS EXCEPT NIKON.

Canon and Nikon are the only professionals in Canon. But if you want to get a fancy camera, go for sony.
After viewing 100s of reviews of different cameras, I have concluded that when you enlarge photos taken by sony cameras, you will find grains on the image while it looks great on camera's LCD screen. Pictures from canon look more professional and looks like taken from a professional camera.

Canon make the best quality of lenses. Sony's are best for camcorders. (A company can't be best for all its products).

You might have heard about leica lenses for sure, they are simply the best, but when you see the leica lens on a panasonic camera, you might think this is the best camera but here is the trick, the lens is great the because of the panasonic electronics and processors, even a great quality lens is not able to deliver the best quality.

Some of the newer ones are but older cyber-shots are unreliable and cost to much but the newer cybershots with 3 optical with 7 megapixels

Hi, I have just recently bought the Sony DSC-H50 and its awesome. It takes clear pictures and even if u zoom in rite to the 15X. It would be a good choice, well i think anyways. Sure its big! but u can get use to that....
