When I turn 21, I'm buying some expensive champagne. Which is better, Crystal or Dom Perignon? And what should I be looking for, as far as quality goes?

Both are excellent. Personally I've had both, Dom when I was getting engaged, and Crystal when I found out my wife was pregnant. Crystal is over rated by MTV and all that crap. Dom's a classic.
Funny, the last Vintage Crystal produced was the '96; that's why Crystal's so expensive.
"they both are over rated (the 99 crystal is outstanding but overpriced) try Krug and Salon"

If you've never had champagne before, you might not like it very much so don't break the bank. Personally I love Iron Horse... if you prefer lighter, fruity drinks (non-alcoholic, of course, since you're not legal yet, hee hee) you may like a pink or "rose" champagne better than a traditional/blanc/brut.
To comparison shop, check out http://shopping.yahoo.com/s:Champagne;_ylt=A9htfmQEXptEgxEAZgF.q8Uu;_ylu=X3oDMTBqdG0yc2NoBF9zAzc4NDcwNjQzMARzZWMDYmM- for prices and reviews.
If there's a World Market store in your area, stop by and talk to the people in the wine department. They've usually got a very good selection, competitive prices and the staff is usually (but not always) very helpful.

Both are very over rated. Try a vintage Dom Ruinart.

You pay for the name. Try a Krug, La Grand Dame, or if you want to support US wines, J. Schram.

Depends on the vintage. Based on bottle color, beware any liquor store that stores the cristal near light, certain death with the clear bottle

Dom is classic. If I could swing it though I'd try both.

Crystal is much better. What should you be looking for? Something that doesn't taste like crap.
