I know here in Texas, the Taks test had to be dumbed down so more kids could pass. Alot of the kids in my area don't speak English very well, or sometimes at all. If the schools didn't have to spend so much money on educating kids who don't speak English to speak english, maybe they would do better in school and they school could use that money for new textbooks or something to benefit all kids at the school. I can not, for the life of me, understand why some parents won't teach their kids English. Studies have shown those children who speak English as second language are 30% more likely to drop out of school, and test scores show hispanic students are falling behind every other ethnicity in all the tested subjects( at least in my area). The gap increases as the child gets older and the reading gets harder. I have known some hispanic kids who made it to college, but still had such a hard time with the English and the advanced reading they dropped out. Not even mentioning the fact that public services such as public school are for taxpaying citizens, not illegals. My daughter was refused entry into public school because we are not migrants and do not speak spanish in the home. Yet, we still have to pay taxes to that school, but we cannot send our children. No one here can, unless you are a migrant or speak spanish in the home. Illegals aren't contributing to the school, yet they get to use it and we don't. We send her to private school now, and pay about $300 a month for it, which right now we really can't afford. But, she is getting a great education.

It does'nt. But the government would like you to think so. Why? So you blindly agree with everything they say. Keeping complete control.

Don't get it twisted illegal aliens have jobs. They pay taxes, they spend there money at Wal-Mart and Target just like everybody else. They are human beings wanting better lives for themselvs and their families. What pisses the government off is that they're not "Documented". Meaning they don't have a way to keep track of all of them.

The u.s. edgucation system is screwed up and always has been. What effects their edgucation? Not having qualified, well paid teachers. Not having up to date books and computers for the classrooms. Have you ever noticed that the schools in White areas of town are always nicer than the schools in the Black/Hispanic Areas of town? Did you ever wonder why? Becaus what ever money goes into the public school system always goes to the White area schools. The have the better teachers and the better building and the better classes. While the Black/Hispanic schools are left with table scraps.

Immigrants should always be welcomed here. That's what this place is suppose to be about.....Right?

The children are not the fault but results show it has an effect. Overcrowding-even Teachers complain. Tax payers can not keep up with schools demands (that is where schools income comes from). Need for more Special Teachers. The higher cost of free lunches.
And schools testing as gone down. Again check out Teachers chat rooms--hundreds of problems that must be addresses and yes many because of unplanned immigration.
If we don't face the truth we can never fix it.

In multiple ways. Having to speak 2 (if not more) laguages in the classroom not only is hard for the immigrants but the english-speaking kids as well. If the teachers didn't have to spend so much time explaining all subjects twice they could have more time to spend with the ones who do speak english but need a little more one-on-one.

And some states (mine is one of them) actually allow ILLEAGAL immigrants to go to college for the cost of in-State tuition if not reduced even more sometimes! And these same ILLEAGAL aliens also usually went through the public school system for FREE!! While yo and I paid for our education. No wonder they would rather stay illeagal! NO Taxes, FREE education, Sign me up!!

They are illegal and therefore they should not be here first of all, but second, they take up room for those who are legal and who do speak english. This is America and languae spoken here is english, we do not need to cater to everyone else. Im assuming that you are a tax payer, you are paying for illegals to be in the classroom. My money needs to go to those who are here legally and not to those who are a leach on society.
They are not always put in to those special classes and when they arent, they are slowing the learning process down for all of the other students.

They force school districts to hire more teachers; teachers who have to speak Spanish because many kids refuse or are told by their parents to not speak English. This diversion of resources hurts the parents and the school district of the legal tax paying citizens.

Immigrants from any country, as long as they enter legally, are not bad people. Mexicans are not bad people. They are seeking a better life than their government will provide. We need to provide a safe and secure form of immigration for them and other cultures. Every other country in the world does. Many have limits of only 50,000 per year. No matter where you came from. Imagine that. The U.S. only allowing 50,000 applicants to legally enter the U.S.

they take up room in the classes, they have to have special teachers because they can't speak English, they cause more trouble in school and more . all this takes away from legal kids having the funds or opportunities for a better education.
also since they are so dumb, we have to lower our education standards to meet their level................

They effect American children severely. Americans have paid ten times over for their children's education through federal, state, and in many cases city taxes. Many of these taxes are not paid by illegal aliens. They are using stolen identification, and forcing an American to foot the bill.
The gang problems are probably the worst though. I had to pull all three of my children out of the public schools that I paid for, because Mexican legal, and illegal students that would gang up on them because they appear white, even though their father is of Mexican heritage. In my area Mexican exhibit the most racism. I had to pay out of my pocket, as many Americans are being forced to do, to pay for an alternative education program. I already paid for my children's education, but three illegal aliens, illegally documented got it instead. But, one of my children is angry enough, to change it. She is becoming a lawyer, and she works, raises her family, and goes to school, an education that she is paying for out of her own pocket.
That is why Americans are saying to families with their children illegally in American schools, we will not pay your way anymore.
Because the Mexican gang problem is so bad in Texas schools, they have put small police departments on school grounds.
My children have to pass through metal detectors, and are subject to unwarrented searches. And detetion by the police without having to notify the parents. Illegal aliens and their supporters are destroying the American education system, that Americans worked hard to pay for. Each year as is reported by our local news, more and more Texas Americans are seeking out alternative means to educate their children because of the legal and illegal migrant workers who place their children in Texas schools.
Americans have come to think of illegal aliens as criminals because they show no respect for our laws, and believe they should have rights they have not earned.
The laws on the books currently that support these criminals are being changed. America will not support criminals who choose to be criminals any longer.

Well for starters, they don't have to pay for their children's education. Did you have to pay to get your child enrolled in school? I did, but that's just because I'm already an American citizen.
