That is a good question because all cops lie and a lot of cops kill...I guess they probably do more sinning than anybody but it's between them and God rather or not they pray and get things right.

Think of it this way, God put you in the position to be a police officer. Now, think about what the world would be like with no law enforcement (shudder). He knows your heart, that is what is important. By the way, it is a mistranslation to say the in the Ten Commandments that "Thou shall not kill." It is more accurate to say that it says, "Thou shall not murder." As you know, there is a difference.

No, it is not a sin to be a cop, but remember, you are a sinner, in need of a Savior. We all are!!

It's not a sin to be a cop but it helps to be evil.

It is not a sin to be a cop, as a cop enforces the law. However, it certainly does go against the commandments of Jesus, which require turning the other cheek, forgiving, and loving one's neighbour as one's self.

It is a complex issue, but they are ministers of the wrath of god, which is not in God, as Christ is in God, but abide on those who have not believed on whom God has sent.

Because they repay evil with evil, they seem to be disobedient, but I guess if I grabbed my son from doing something bad, carried him into the house and disciplined him, i'm doing the same thing....

Because of unbelief in our society, police are a necessary evil.

I hand police a lot of respect, it's a tough and mostly thankless job. I treat them as ministers of God, respectfully.

Yes, because one of the commandments clearly states "Thou shalt not kill." Cops kill if they have to.

Also, the Bible says "Turn the other cheek." If cops did that, we would have no protection.

This is why I don't understand why Christians go to war.

NO! All people working for the government are ordained by God. That's not to say that they don't abuse the system or that they are religious. Like Caesar, the ruler in the Bible- God said to give to Caesar what is his--referring to paying taxes.
Obeying the law is obeying God.
