You can defenitly adjust you status through her. Even if she only is a greencard holder which means she is a permanent resident. If she had a citizenship you can get your greencard wrthin 1 year of filing a adjustment of status form. I don't know how long the wait is if she is only a resident but i suppose it is longer. But while you wait for your Greencard you are given a worker's permit so you can legally work. With that you can get a driver's license. go to the link below for more info!!!

The best thing you can do is contact an immigration attorney who can explain to you how this work, I am pretty sure that If she applies for you is only going to be a petition and you will be a in a waiting list for a least 10 or 11 years before you can become a Legal resident, but if she is able to become a US citizen it will be faster, but depends how long she has been a legal resident and how she became one, like I said before it would be better if you contact an Immigration Attorney

the only way for what i know to get your green card is if the person you married has a citizenship, with only the green card i believe you can't change your status, but for better answer you should contact an inmigration lawyer.

1. you can contact a lawyer
2. check the uscis site
3. person's w/ green cards can sponsor their spouses, but it takes a much longer time than if they were a citizen
4. if you have not status here, you may have to return to your home country, and it may be best our spouse files for you before coming back.....
I suggest you consult an attorney.... immigration laws change daily
