Between a TRUE Christian and a TRUE Muslim, there's nothing standing between peace. Islam considers Jesus a prophet (albeit a lesser one than Mohammad), and acknowledges that Christianity worships the same god (the god of Abraham). And whatever a Christian thinks about the possibility of salvation for those outside their unique faith, the teachings of love and forgiveness of Jesus obviously prescribe tolerance and nonviolence.
Christianity and Islam have both been invoked to justify acts that neither faith would consider holy. But there is nothing inherent in these religions that mean we must consider jihad or holy crusades to be an inevitability.

There have been centuries of pease between the two religions. One period of conflict was the crusades when the stupid Europeans tried to keep the holy lands under their control.
The crusades mostly failed because the armies were made up of a bunch of ambitious dopes. Nobelmen wanted to be kings. The soldiers made up from hobos and beggers wanted land. The crusades were a stupid idea in every way.
The next period of conflict is now. Muslims blowing up embassies all over the world. Now it's reversed, the Muslims are as stupid as the Crusaders were a few centuries ago.
There were no problems between the two religions for the five centuries before the crusades or the six hundred years after them.

To the ridiculously stupid moron above me...
Are you f-ing kidding me? Could you be any stupider? They weren't a threat until George Bush came along? You are either the most ignorant person in the world or you're 12. Probably both. Get your head out of your *** and take a look at the world around you. They've been committing acts of barbarism and terrorism "in the name of Allah" for centuries. Go away and learn about the real world before you start spouting off any "answers" on here.

LOL, i love Woodbuffalo's answer! many years in the past, i'd have suggested no, in no way, yet seeing how the peace procedure is going in Northern eire, which i'd have idea became no longer plausible, i'd ought to say perchance there is wish for the human beings of the middle East contained in the close to destiny. What has it to do with the old excuses, even if? Politics, Democracy, faith? No baby-kisser needs civil conflict, no extremely non secular human being needs conflict, and civil conflict is the completed opposite of democracy. Economics, even if - what palms broking service ever needs peace? in undemanding words they income, and fairly, from all the conflicts.

I think if TRUE Christians and TRUE Muslims could live in peace. It's the NUTS on both sides causing the problems today.

Absolutely there can be peace. Once everyone realizes why man originally created religion and that there is no reason for anyone to believe in it, then all will be well. Then we can move on to better things like raising the standards of life in our more impoverished nations!

No, for the fact that you said, all Chrisitans want to convert the world. A lot of people including myself hate that, and anyone who acts like that, I wanna punch in the face. I'm also sure that I'm not the only one that thinks that way either. (FYI, I'm sure there'll be a lot of funny answers to this one)

Sure, it could work. We'd have to stop trying to convert them, and they'd have to stop trying to conquer the world. Won't happen of course, but its a nice thought.
